Ah, those were already shaded for me! I'm not confident enough to meddle with light sources and shading, so I just do blocks of colouring. I use the original colour spreads and covers for a palette and reference guide.
I recommend having a go, it's really very satisfying and not that all difficult. Time consuming, definitely, but well worth it.
Thank you.

Episode 2 is up!
I had such a blast doing this piece. I was fortunate that there was a matching cover I could use as a template.
However the bit I want to talk about is the Russian Paratroopers. Long-running fans of the comic would have been familiar with Johnny Red and the brutality of the Russian Front, and as such were all too familiar with the Russian military and their devotion to duty. In their brief cameo we see the Russians determined to capture Red Jackal before the SAS. It goes unspoken in the story, but to me it was clear that they had retribution on their minds, Red jackal was, after all, a former soldier in the Soviet Army.
I am reminded of an issue of Jonny Red where a German pilot is captured. He is stripped, tied to a pole and repeatedly drenched in cold water. The water quickly forms to ice and he slowly freezes to death. I can't recall the name as this particular punishment but the grisly image has stayed with me since childhood.
Without wanting to spoil it for anyone who hasn't read it let's just say that Red Jackal finds himself in very hot water indeed!
