Hi folks,
I've just got a brand new red beret, for my R.O.R.C. outfit, can anybody offer advice or tips on shaping it correctly?

Cheers in advance.

Hot water, cold water and then stick it on your head and mould it to the shape you want. Once shaped leave it on your head for a short while and then dry naturally.

Thanks Paul. :)

I've been watching a few 'how too' vid's on youtube, all by Americans, which say to shave the beret .. would you recommend doing so, or is that just a U.S. army thing?

I shaved one of mine before, it depends on preference really some of us did some didn't also if it has a leather band around don't immerse that in the water and take the crappy plastic diamond out of the inside it makes your head sweat and apparently it will make you bald over time!

Thanks for the advice guys

No worries on the baldness front, Tinny, I've got a head start on that already.

I know it's a just a silly dressing up thing but I'd like to do it well.. I want to look like :skip: not Frank Spencer :-D

Wouldn't that be a "Hollywood" beret? A Brazilian beret would be a nicely groomed landing strip style beret, which may look a tad like a mow hawk!
