Is everyone playing the "silent game"??

Post by stkhlmdk »

I think our dear forum has gone awefully silent in the past month or so. I know Baron has been moving house but I also feel like a lot of the frequent posters have gone silent lately (Eddie and Annie, where art thou?? ;)). Personally I have been flooded with work incl a lot of travels + trying to attend to the family but I try to post once in a while.
Best Regards

Pretty much the same here, since Emma had the miscarriage I've been preoccupied. But things are on the mend.

Hope to get some photo's up of the Wonderful Geyper Man and Dragon figures I got for my birthday this coming week. And for the spotters perhaps some photo's of the last ever Leuchars Airshow which takes place tomorrow.
When confronted by a difficult problem you can solve it more easily by reducing it to the question. How would the Lone Ranger handle this?

Hey Rene glad your doing well and work is busy.

Hey Paul tell Emma we send our best from across the pond.

ive been busy with work and the boys. and dealing with a coworker who took his life this week in the river near my house. so ive been dealing with that this week. and prior weeks ive been in the forrest trying to round up z germans.

also we have a monitor now on internet usage at work so my bftb time is next to zero.
my cell phone will not let me type in forums nor pms. but i hope to get an updated phone soon as mine is going on 3 years old lol.

other then that just enjoying my family and watching my two boys grow up so fast. now 6 and 2 yrs old. time sure does fly by very fast.

iam going to be going to a rather large convention in october here in florida and as plans go now will be doing an Action Force talk in hopes to bring awarness to AF mostly Palitoy AF as a lot of americans only seem to know red shadows and the oring repaints. but once you get into the figures and series 1 and 2. then you really enjoy them and want to build the set.

here is a link to the site

http://ultraconofsouthflorida.com/

the guy hosting the event is the top all time collector of joes and hasbro gave him a ring to show their thanks. he was one of the guys who started the conventions back in 1992. we have been pals for about ten years or more.

Paul, sorry about your loss. If you need anything don't hesitate to ask.

I'm just not in great form at the moment.
Log on every day but not feeling very chatty.

I am working on a pretty big af project and hope it may lead to the start of a little business but like I seem to always do I get about 80% there then just stall. Trying to still sort the leak in my den as it's gonna be my workshop. Now kids are back at school I have a bit more time just no money. Waiting on money coming through for a training course and have the promise of work but the waiting is killing me.

seems we are all in the same sort of boat these days. not sure if its just we are getting of age were life seems so blah vs when we were kids and the parents took all the hits and we just kept playing with our pals and doing sports. but one thing is for sure whether we are all in the same city or across the pond if we stick together we can make it. it seems to work when there is a scammer on the lurking we all work together and get stuff done just like with skyline and the other guy who took some money from a few members as i remember rene and a few others who lost some money and never got the items.

ive said this before to the boss and a few other members. there should be a part of the forum where we can get a few of us in a video chat and have nice discussions. i think it would be a neat addition to the site and a chance for some of us to chat face to face rather then just reading text. for me i have a few pals in germany and a few others spots i cant say lol but skype is a great tool.

cheers to each of you mates and pints up

ok Steve its your turn, eddie were are you, mr tree are you listening

I am deeply sorry to hear that, no words come to mind which can possibly make it good again but I hope you are able to help eachother through this.

I hope the "summer effect" soon ends because we need to stir things up before the next RoRc (really would love to attend but no funds...)

I'm trying, but I can't talk to myself. ;-) All busy here down under too, kids, work, family. But I'm trying to do the things I love. I have been trying to sort my AF/VAM out and have a few idea's for pics that will rival Ed's handy work - as if. Now my son has just won his footy finals I should have more time, I've been doing the running for his footy club as water boy too. My Daughter has Netball on Saturdays and my Wife works every second weekend. That gives me about ten minutes a week when you take band rehearsal into account.

You lot make this place interesting, so don't shy away, lads.

Life's seeming pretty hard for a few guys lately it seems. Paul - really sorry to hear that news my friend. From the years I've known you I'm sure when a child comes along you and Emma will be amazing parents.

Travis - horrible to say I can relate to your situation. Those types of situations can affect you in good ways as well as bad. Try to make it into a positive mate - let it make you appreciate the world, and do everything in your power to keep you and those around you in it and enjoying it.

And Chopper - Talking with yourself is like playing with yourself me auld mucca - you can do it, but not as much fun as when done with others, and isn't to be recommended in public!!! :-)

As for me? Well, I'm here. Summer months I always try to keep busy with more summery stuff, which don't leave a lot of time for the toys and stuff. My collection is a bit messy at the moment, and the toy room needs a total revamp. I don't get a lot of my "me time" these days, but hoping that'll change in the foreseeable. So hoping the winter lets me finish a lot of (DoubleTap esq!) unfinished projects! Then I can chill out in the hobby a lot more!

Recorded with the guys from theFullForce the other week too - which was great fun - had a proper good laugh!!! Looking forward to the episode being released!!
