it is but it involves taking it apart and disengaging the springs. One bad point of this is that the wings flap around willy nilly. Sorry i cant ve more helpful as im on my phone but there are lots of guides on the web. Can have a look later for one.

Thanks for your post. I would not want the wings to be loose I want to be able to control them too. If you do find anything would be great to hear about it

I dont think that will work on an original Skystriker but you could probably do something similar. I usually just mod them to be on display with wings swept and landinggear down by opening the hull and put them in swept position while gear is lowered and then screw it all together again :)

I followed this tutorial to mod my 30th Skystriker.
The switch now just controls the landing gear and the wings are opened and closed indepenently of each other.

Thanks for all your advice guys really appreciate it.

Here is another question, what scale is the skystriker in relation to a tomcat? Found a good website that does decals but need the size.

Thanks

I don't know the scale comparison but Cobrastickers do some F-14 stickers for the Skystriker.

Well I have scanned the internet and read loads of threads on various forums about how to customise the wings on the skystriker.

There are some great looking ones that look far to complex for my skills. The best one which is the one I did took just 20 mins.

This relates to the old version.

unscrew all screws from underneath.

Gently take the top and bottom apart;

saw or file away the black teeth on the lever section not the wings.

put tape around the wing pegs to tighten their movement

put it all back together and hey presto wings and gear work seperatley with no wobbly wings!!!

Very proud of myself
