Early Xmas present Flagg

I have my much wanted USS Flagg at last...yippee!

After being told by a nice young gentleman that I purchased my last lot of AF from that he had a aircraft carrier sitting at his mums housewhich he needed gone.
I offered to get it out of the way as long as he did not want silly money for it.
We shook on £200 and to my delight I collected a really nice complete USS Flagg last week with box instructions and original decal sheets.

Only downside is he has pit the 99 sticker on upside down and the cabin has some yellowing but for £200 I am well happy.

Happy Xmas to one and all :)

Congrats! It's a great piece, I love mine! Your looks very near complete, if not complete, that's a great price you paid to boot!

Sweet Jiminy, that's awesome. The 66 is good as it makes it different to most other peoples HMS Flagg's. :-) And the yellowing is easy fixed.

Cheers, i know I got really lucky.
Apparently he had hundreds of Gi Joe and Star wras figures too but someone beat me to them Doh!

The guy won this Flagg as a boy from a toy shop called Beaties in Watford!
His current girlfriend would not let him have it in their flat and his mum wanted it gone from her spare room before Xmas.
He knew it was worth a lot more but said as long as I collected and it was gone by Xmas he was happy to cut me a deal.

Don't worry I'm not too jelous :-) Well done, I live in Worthing which is about 9 miles from Brighton. I entered the competition in the Beatties Btn to win the Flagg too! I remember the question was: What is the name of the Admiral that comes with the toy? Sadly I never won. A couple of years later they did a similar competition to win the Defiant! I remember seeing the box on display downstairs and nearly pissed myself! It was bigger than me! My dad asked the manager if it was for sale and he told him it was a prize but if he had £600 I could take it home that day! Anyways.. years later I spent pretty much £600 for my current Defiant which is about £200 too much :-( Irony! BTW, if anyone reads this and has a mint pair of blue doors LMK :-)

Aha! That all makes perfect sense now! That story about the competition is exactly what the guy told me who I got my Defiant from a few years ago. I live near Watford and he was a couple of miles down the road from me. He said he won it when he was a child in some sort of competition.
So there you go between us we've pieced together that in Watford in the 1980s you could have won either a Defiant or a Flagg if you were lucky!

Great haul by the way, enjoy!
