SAS Frogman question

I picked up a MOSC SAS Force Frogman on eBay a week or 2 back. After looking at it, I'm a little puzzled. Every AF figure I've seen can move around a little in the bubble, but this one seems to have a shaped piece of clear plastic behind him, keeping him in place. I definitely didn't have any like that as a kid.
Has anone else seen anything like this before?

Doesn't ring any bells, are we talking about the SAS Squad frogman or the Wave 1 Action Force frogman (he has flesh coloured hands)?

Search the forum for posts on re-sealing carded figures. Some moron had to hold the goon in place as he made his "mint carded" reality real in the last years.
But no, never seen before back in 83-85. Cos some fkr was re-sealing mint cards and one assumes that is an appropriate method come a re-printed card-figure-bit face-to-face with super glue.
Are we all in agreeance or not?

I have an SAS Pilot 5th Release* that has the same 2nd inner bubble/shaped piece of clear plastic behind him, to hold the figure in place.
*5th Release have no feet on the bubble, printed white "Look out for the exciting Action Force comic on sale", the back has the mail away commander offer on the right hand side and has the dotted cut along yellow box.

Totally legit. I went in a side quest to locate these rare "in tray" figures and try to assign some logic to them. I found very few of the figures, and even less logic. But they're genuine, not reseals.

I have a Z Force Radio Operator like this...I nearly opened him aswell!
Best hold on to him.
You get it with some Palitoy SW figures to.

Turns out my other Radio Operator has the 'shelf' inside to hold him aswell.
Anyone want to trade? I want a Radio Operator I can open, so want a plain one. Card and bubble can be crap...just want a minty figure. Don't want to open this 'rarer' variant!

This is madness!
Seriously, what was up with Palitoy? They have such little consistency in their packaging and figures!
Ok, so, so far we have 3 figures that came in a moulded plastic shelf:
SAS Frogman
SAS Pilot
Z Force Radio Operator
Draven and LDR, Is there any chance we can get a photo of the front of the card so that we know what type of both cardback and variant figure we are dealing with?
Steve, what others like this do you have, and any chance of a photo(s)?
Oooooh, now this is exciting!
