Postmodernity and its discontents

So, today I had to check something about the Forsvarets Spesialkommando (FSK) AKA Norway's SF unit, currently the QRF in Kabul.

Did a google and all the google search hits on page one were for the next 'Medal of Honor: Warfighter' game.

Seriously google, get your algorithms back in some pre-marketing promotion and hard-data-only line pls, before we all defect to dogpile.com for the last time

Indeed I often wonder where Altavista is now. Probably wintering with it's mother in Geocities.

Remember when Yahoo was power by Google too ... ??????????????

There used to be an amazing one called something fusion. Coldfusion? ? Webcrawler was ace for a while. Lycos was fail central.

Amazon's A9 thing or whatever it's called is still lurking under the surface, like seven years now or something, waiting for them to ace a killer tablet and attempt to hole Sergey and his ever more lumpy algorithms below the waterline.
