ACTION FORCE - 5 TEAMS – HCF STATIONARY ITEMS
Recently “someone” pressed the wrong button and some of my posts disappeared.
Though most of the pictures are still in the Archives I thought I would combine similar Topics and Re-Post them with the descriptions etc.

This Topic covers the 5 Teams Action Force Stationary Items made by HCF (H C Ford & Sons (HCF) Ltd).
It includes Mini Notebooks, Pencil Erasers, a “Drinks Can” Pencil Sharpener, a Printing Set and a Ruler.

NB There will be a separate Topic for the Pencil Toppers & a Pencil Case because I am not sure who made them.

MORE INFORMATION NEEDED
If anyone knows of any other Items could they please let me know.

MINI NOTEBOOKS
I have two Mini Notebooks, one is an SAS Force Mini Notebook & the other a Q Force Mini Notebook.
I have also seen a Space Force Mini Notebook on Ebay but was outbid for it.
It is almost certain there was also a Z Force version and probably a Red Shadow version but I’ve yet to see them. These are Hard Cover Notebooks measuring approximately 2⅝” wide x 3” high x ⅜” thick (68 x 75 x 11 mm).
The Front Cover has an illustration of the Team, the Back Cover is blank apart from copyright details.
Inside the front of each page is lined with part of the illustration from the Front Cover, the back of each page is unlined & un-illustrated.


PENCIL ERASERS
I have six different Pencil Erasers but there may have been more. The ones I have are Q Force Aqua Trooper, Q Force Deep Sea Defender, Baron Ironblood, SAS Squad Leader, Space Pilot & Z Force Captain.
Each white rubber Eraser has an Action Force design printed on one side & is wrapped in cellophane with a small golden “MADE IN TAIWAN REPUBLIC OF CHINA” sticker on the back.
Each Eraser is 1⅞” wide x 2⅞” high x ⅜” thick (48 x 73 x 10 mm).


Z Force “Drinks Can” Pencil Sharpener The Z Force “Drinks Can” Pencil Sharpener is in the form of an old style Ring-Pull Drinks Can with a rim at the top and bottom. It is made of blue plastic with a printed label wrapped round it.
It is approximately 1⅛ inches wide by 1⅞ inches tall (28mm by 47mm).
The Z Force illustration on the label is the same as the one on the Z Force Pencil Case which will be in my other Topic. The hole for the pencil is in the top of the “Can”, the base of the “Can” pulls off to remove the pencil shavings.
Inside is a simple plastic Pencil Sharpener glued to the underside of the “Can” top.
There may have been a “Drinks Can” Pencil Sharpener made for each of the other Teams but I have not seen them.


ACTION FORCE - 5 TEAMS - PRINTING SET I managed to get two of these Printing Sets so I opened one to examine the contents.
The pack illustration only features Z Force, but I do not think there were any other sets as both packs include the same six Rubber Stamps with one for each of the Five Teams plus a second Rubber Stamp (of the Stingray) for Q Force. Also each Rubber Stamp has a different number moulded on the back (from 1 to 6).
The six Rubber Stamps are:
#1 – Baron Ironblood
#2 – Deep Sea Defender
#3 – Space Pilot
#4 – Stingray
#5 – SAS Squad Leader
#6 – Z Force Captain
Each set also includes a Stamp Pad (Box Lid, Box Base and Ink Sponge).

STAMP PAD
The Stamp Pad Box is 1¾” wide by 1¼” tall by ⅝” deep (45 by 32 by 15 mm) & consists of three parts, Lid, Base & Ink Sponge. Stamp Pad Box (left to right) Three Part Stamp Pad, Box Lid, Box Base & Ink Sponge.

RUBBER STAMPS
Each Rubber Stamp is 1” wide by 1¼ ”tall (25 by 32 mm) & has a moulded grip/handle on the back.
Please note the Rubber Stamps seem to have distorted over the years, they are still square but have bowed backwards and are no longer flat. Left to Right #3 – Space Pilot. Front, Side & Back Views. Top Row left to right: #1 – Baron Ironblood, #2 – Deep Sea Defender & #3 – Space Pilot.
Bottom Row left to right: #4 – Stingray, #5 – SAS Squad Leader & #6 –Z Force Captain.

PRINTS
Due to the distortion of the Rubber Stamps it’s difficult to get a decent print from them. Top Row left to right: #1 – Baron Ironblood, #2 – Deep Sea Defender & #3 – Space Pilot.
Bottom Row left to right: #4 – Stingray, #5 – SAS Squad Leader & #6 –Z Force Captain.


RULERS
I have one (damaged) Z Force Ruler. There may also have been Rulers made for the other Teams but I have not seen them.
It is a six inch white plastic Ruler & has the measurements markings (Imperial & Metric) printed in silver. There is a (damaged) sticker along the middle which shows the Z Force Captain & Quarrell with the Z Force Rapid Fire Motorcycle.

What I love about these items is that they show Action Force characters portrayed by artists outside of the BAF stable.

Look at the erasers, they all have the same basic design template, ie. encircled character with accompanying explosive background, but the artist has made each one unique and at the same time squeezed tons of excitement and dynamism into each illustration.
Note and with their stabby knives and blasting though the confines of his circle. Also note the rare sighting of brandishing an Uzi , not to mention looking confused and looking menacing while possibly muzzle loading his rifle.
