The One Where Palitoy Try To Get Around the Inexplicable

Not long after getting the earlier missive regarding the demise of our gallant heroes, in April 1985 this attempt to coopt a fuming child landed on the doorstep. The questionnaire was duly sent along with requisite missives but no prize was ever received. At all. As fuggin usual.

At least this resolves the earlier issue of where the AF base Ground Zero was: bloody Coalville! Guess there was a huge hollowed out aquafer or some vulgar artesian basin underneath for all the submarines... We want a geologist here, and we want one now!

I remember getting one of those. I seem to recall my reply wasn't exactly a glowing reccomendation (and coincided with me pretty much completely stopping buying the toys, especially after seeing how crappy the new stickers were).

Dude, the feeling is mutual. Interesting you got one of these too though.

I think I got one because I'd sent off for various mailways they'd had; I got the AF Captain figure, and sent off for 2 Krakens, but got a Skeletron for the second one (with a letter explaining how they'rd run out of Krakens). I do still have the Kraken, complete with his net and gun

Hmm.. interesting. Palitoy was obviously in total meltdown. The tears of my youth in toy shops were obviously not without vain reason then.

That rings a vague beel.
I think I got one of those too, and for the same reason as Draven- I had gotten most of the mailaways.
That said, I was more upset at the cancellation of BAF than the toys.

I don't recall that letter, but I do remember the time time when they changed from the Red Shad era to the Cobra era. It was a very sad and uncertain time for me as a child - what was going to happen to my favourite heros and their deadly enemy? Fortunatley BAF kept bringing back the AF teams and the Red Shadows. I really enjoyed reading about the new and old AF teams versus the Red Shads versus Cobra.
