I just got a Killer Whale in a joblot auction. Unfortunately it's just the shell, is it worth my while to track down all of the components or shall I just look for an intact one, do you reckon?

To be honest you are probably just as well buying one from Ebay complete. I spent as much getting the odd bit I needed to finish a half-empty shell, and with P&P costs it wasn't financially worth it.

I just got a killer whale for spare parts myself. There are some good parts left over. It even came with the little motorbike. what parts do you need?

Baron, if you have the shell, it might be a good opportunity for a customized killer whale to deck out as you see fit.
If you are trying to get one complete piece by piece will probably be a long painfull process, as several of the parts are hard to find unbroken (fins on the fans, cannon monting brackets, etc).
Best of luck in either (or both) endeavor
