Looking on ebay you may find that the market for back issues of battle has dropped, possibly due to the realease of charleys war as a graphic novel and being reprinted in 2000ad.
My advice is keep looking on the bay and you may not need to spend your ?100.
Another place i can recommend is old bookshops and depending on your location i know that a year or so ago the Black Cat Book Shop in leicester had back issues in stock for a ?1.00 or so (though you may have to ask some-one to find them for you as they were in the stock room not on display).
Other than that if you print a list of what you need i may have a few issues doubled at home as i went crazy on collecting a complete run of battle a few years ago (can't garentee that i've any AF issues left tho).
You could also vist your local car boots as i've brought collections for as little as ?10.00 for a years worth on them.
Hope this expands your horizons a little.

Cheers for the info. So far I have no copies at all. I have got the 3 holiday specials and all the annuals of battle ever done. I am looking for a good run of BAF to get me started.

If anyone can help, please please please let me know!

Cheers.

Seriously, I trawled evey comic shop, book shop and comic convention in the land collecting 2000AD and Battle, I completed both but never saw a single issue of Battle in hand. Not a one.

I did them all online, and the only places I found them were http://www.ebay.co.uk and http://www.26pigs.com. The best tip I have is to contact anyone who sells or bids on eBay Battle auctions by PM and swap your spares ;)

Be aware that there are several Battle-free weeks caused by a printers strike, I spent months hunting comics that do not exist. There are 664 issues in total: http://www.bloodforthebaron.com/phpbb2/ ... .php?t=851.

The set is slowly being scanned, I've recently done the Summer Specials, the places to look is htttp://www.zcultfm.com/~comic, followed by http://www.demonoid.com. You can also grab the images from my site and these beauties: http://www.falconsquadron.sevenpennynightmare.co.uk and http://www.bestofbattle.sevenpennynightmare.co.uk/. Aside from some other scan free-fansites, that really is your lot.

ariaisland- I saw this E-bay auction, I'd ask some questions before bidding as his feedback isn't the greatest, I hope you check this post before it ends.

Same guy has also now got this one posted.

May be worth checking out, but may be a CD copy from Blood for the Baron.

The Transformers comic sets he's selling are CD's, and the auction that PoetFlint has linked has 49 available.

If this is genuine then my appologies, just seems a little wierd!!!!

Cheers to you all for your input. I think I have just found (and bought) a decent collection. I will have to see when it arrives! but certainly sounds good enough to get me started.

I was very dubious (and as you say, maybe wrongly so) about the listings mentioned as I think they will be scans rather than the actual comics.

Anyway, thanks again for anyone that offered assistance here. I will post an update once I receive my comics.
