Finished this a while ago, but didn't get round to writing up a filecard for him as I couldn't decide on his background. Since the board was quiet and I saw an article about China building the worlds longest suspension bridge just south of Shanghai, I thought I'd finish him off and post some pics.

As usual it started as an EBay auction like this:

And now looks like this:

BRIDGE DOWN

And in action, creating an armoured bridgehead with Steeler and his boys...............

AVLB

GI Joe Bridgelayer painted and Z Force stickers (re-used and custom home made ones). I considered a few changes, such as guns and an antenna, but am running out, and they didn't seem to add much - so I left it pretty much at that.

Pontoon

Couldn't waste the original tollbooth hat (although I admit he doesn't look all that oriental) so I used the figure. I wanted heavy gloves though, so I took the arms from a GI Joe Range Viper. He still has his original hammer, but I added a crowbar from some cheap figure set.

I thought this would be my last Z Force custom for a while, as I have partly finished a couple of new vehicles for The Enemy, and still have some SAS Force ones to complete. However I recently found a GI Joe Warthog for a couple of quid and thought it would suit Skip as a Command Vehicle in an armoured battle. I never liked the APC for this as he wouldn't be in with the tanks and his 2MS is "Use of Heavy Armour". Although I think it might be better to even things out if I used it as a troop carrior for some Red Shadows..................mmmmmmmm....................can't decide!

I'd love to see some Shadow customs!! Doubtless whatever you decide will end up looking superb. Excellent work.

Many thanks. I'm part finished a couple of customs vehicle for your esteemed organisation Baron :enemy: (he says bowing). I'm still missing a few bits, but I'll post the pictures so far. Who knows, someone on the forum may be able to help.

I love the bridge layer. The attention to detail, such as the Z-Force sign on the bridge is brilliant.

Pontoon is cool, but I reackon he needs a Z-Force symbol on his arm.

By the way, I know you've already said but, what paint do you use on the Vehicles.

Looking forwards to new Shadow converts, should be geat.

I know what you mean about the :zforce: on his arm, but I've yet to find a way of putting it on that doesn't detract from the overall look of the figure.

As for the paint it's:
jimbo wrote:I tried a couple of types and colours, but my patience gave out and I went for ...

Humbrol Enamel SATIN 131

This is a green paint somewhere between gloss and matt, and although the colour isn't an exact match the 'satin' finish is close to the shiny, but not gloss, finish to the Z Force plastic.

Unfortunately enamels don't seem to take very well to the flexible plastic of the figures. I've painted an old US Para body (sacrilege I hear some cry!) with the same paint to give me a bit of body type variety on my Z Force army, but it didn't take well. I'll dig a picture out to demonstrate in a minute.

:zforce: or dead!

Jimbo, great job, (like your other customs)

did you intend Pontoon's real name to be "Tomorrow" (translated from Mandarin)?
