We got 10 inches here in the Chicago area.
That stop snowing button didn't work!
But we are used to it.

They need to save 25% of the grit apparently.

Tossers.
as i gather there is a shortage of grit!! as with everything we have no advanced planning, they can make plans for 50 years time but not sort out the now.

They won't grit UNTIL we have more snow but our side streets are still too icy to walk on.

But advanced planning costs money, which can be better spent on obscene pensions and massive salaries for council staff (just remember that Kent Council has the highest paid Chief Exec in the UK and lost a shitload of cash to Iceland). So thats probably why half the roads aren't cleared or gritted.

it makes paying council tax even more rewarding.

We got double D's here. ;-) 37 yesterday, 30 something today and 41 tomorrow. The button must be broke, it's stopped snowing here alright. I'm still not used to it. 20 years in Aussie and I still wilt in this heat.

Damn that sounds hot!
Personally I can't stand the hot weather & feel much more comfortable in the winter, @ least when it's cold you can do something to warm yourself up, but once I get too warm I tend to get tired, irritable & feel miserable...suffering from hay fever doesn't help.

It may be easier in to live with in Oz though, do you have that better "dry" heat (which I can cope with better) , or is it the truley 'orrible sticky humid heat we seem to get here in the U.K. Chop?

Down south here we have stupid low humidity and VERY low rainfall. In fact we are suffering water restrictions as the catchments are around 20% full. Its the reason we had those fires last year. Tinder dry, really can't describe it.

Up north it gets humid but not quite as hot, Melbourne's summer is more like outback Aussie, just dry and hot. You can feel your skin burning after about 32 degrees with the sun on it. You know when you are getting sun burnt and you can't swim midday because you will cook too. In NZ its lower temps again but higher humidity. Temps range from -10 to 35 depending on altitude and proximity to the south pole.

I'm with you, you can light a fire, put warm undies on and all is good when its cold but you can't take anything more off when you are naked and still hot. sh*t I miss the frost right now. This room is the only room not air coned and sweat is dripping off just posting this. I plan to take some funny pics tomorrow if Ican brave the heat. ;-)

You lucky, lucky bastard. What I would give to have my balls froze off. Sheer, bloody luxury. I'm sweating in places I never new could sweat. Its not hot, its bloody ridiculous. Our overnight low for the next 2 nights is 28.

I would like to see more snow pics, it might cool me down. Please sir, can I have some more?
