Re: COLOURING PROJECT - IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
As soon as Comixpress add them to their site I'll post a direct link here and get to work on the BFTB Storefront, which really is an hours work at most (touch wood). I'll then post links and pics everywhere.
I'm really happy with Volume 2 in particular, I was just thumbing through it. There are so many accidental links which work out really, really well. It starts with Sea Fury, which establishes
and
as the villains, at the end
vows revenge on
. Next is Operation Sealion, starring
,which establishes
as a villain.
Then it gets interesting, as Assault on Atoll Z is the first of the Resolution 909 tie-ins, and features the now-established
and
. On a computer screen we get a shot of
with the name John Shepherd. Cut to Revenge of the Red Shadows, where
confronts
, who names him as... John Shepherd. Completely unintentional and it works beautifully.
Similarly, at the beginning of Revenge of the Red Shadows we have an
debriefing where
mentions
and
. There is a little asterisk box where it mentions that both
and
squads have been assigned to other duties worldwide. Next strip? Venom of Cobra, starring
in India! Again, pure coincidence that fits like a glove. The whole book reads like a single graphic novel.

I'm confused is this the same set of ten books that some of us are helping Jamar get printed?

Re: COLOURING PROJECT - IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
nope, these are in colour and there is currently only 3 ( were working on more in the future ) the 10 volume set that Im putting together is in the original black and white original formatdominic.18 wrote:I'm confused is this the same set of ten books that some of us are helping Jamar get printed?
some people wanted them NOT coloured, some people wanted them colored, and most people want something now LOL
the colored versions take a lot of time to get done because of the coloring so its a ways off before anymore volumes come out. were almost half way done with volume 4 as far as coloring goes. probally will be another 6 months before that one is completed, so the next 6 volumes will be WAY down the road

Re: COLOURING PROJECT - IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
I just wanted to make sure they were the same books. I dont have any problems with the black and white ones for now but the color ones are looking great also.
Re: COLOURING PROJECT - IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Yes, the layouts, contents and dimensions will be the same for both sets. Only one will be full-colour strips while the others are B&W.
One small snag is how to differentiate the two sets. Had I known in advance I would have added a little "In Colour!" logo to the Colouring Project books, but they have been submitted now. Adding a little "In B&W!" to the original set seems a bit pointless, I might as well put "NOT In Colour!" There is no room for alteration on the spines.
One thought is to convert the covers themselves to B&W.

Any suggestions?

Re: COLOURING PROJECT - IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Have to say that those books look brilliant.
I can already see the scene a few months from now:
Explaining to the missus that the "specially imported, full-colour action books" waiting for collection at the downtown Purolator office are not the sort of thing she thinks they are, and, yes, I found them on the internet, but it wasn't one of those kind of sites, honest, so please, please can I have the car keys now 'cos they close at 4, and so on.

Re: COLOURING PROJECT - IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Back on topic, I think the black and white covers would look odd, even if they reflect the contents.
It's a real shame that a little "Now In Colour!" label can't be added to the covers of coloured sets, 'cos with the benefit of hindsight that would have been the best option.
For the black and white versions, would it be possible to have the blue/red background and yellow ACTION FORCE of the covers remain in colour, and convert just the montage depicting the characters and vehicles to black and white? Or would that look a mess?
