Just about mate the band should be a wee bit closer to your eyebrows, but a good attempt none the less :)
When confronted by a difficult problem you can solve it more easily by reducing it to the question. How would the Lone Ranger handle this?

Isn't it two fingers above the ear? I remember having to wear a beret in Venturers.
Let me tell you, Gunner La-De-Dah Graham, the British Army can fight anything! Intimate or not!

ohhh, you rebel. That's right, now I remember. I always get sh*tty when I see a movie (usually Stalone or his ilk) wearing a beret incorrectly. OCD fail.

There's a story there soldier, do tell.
Or is it one of those "I can't, I could still end up on a charge" stories?

Not a huge story Tim, I was training Skill at Arms Instructors and mis judged the wind a bit, well by a country mile! When the fire crew pitched up I got a mouthful as it was lunch time and the football was on! Just at that a bush went up like something out of the bible, anyhoo, three crash tenders, 16000 Litres of water, a closed airfield another Officer with smoke inhalation later they all passed! And thankfully thr Orderly Officer decribed it as a routine incident, 463 off the hook! ;)

Hats (berets) off to you sir!
That's properly hilarious.
Ordnance wise, what was it that you sent in the wrong direction?
