Re: How about a 'Custom Of The Month' competion?

I think this will work easier if everybody submits their own favourite custom, and we vote. Submitting ten and getting people to vote on each contestant seems a bit long-winded to me.

I really think scrap the "no voting for yourself" policy, it'll be impossible to enforce - not only that but you may actually think that your own custom is better than the others!

So, let's not have a divide, rather than peeling off into separate camps let's hammer this out now.

I propose everybody submit their own favourite custom thus far to get the ball rolling, we'll vote for that on the 1st of July, and from the 1st of August onwards have custom of the month - I shall update the archives this week.

I'm now against splitting figures from vehicles, the archives aren't arranged that way. A custom is a custom.

I'm thinking of posting the top five results in the Winners gallery with a homepage link.

A grand "Custom of the year" every year is also a great idea, that one can have actual prizes as we did with the 25th anniversary draw. We could hold it on the 8th of October each year.

Any objections / observations / off-topics?

Ok sounds better will re-paints still be counted as customs or just 100% customised figures/vehicles?

does it really matter how he archives are arranged? i still think it would be better to have one for figs & one for vehicles coz it makes voting easier (easier to decide!) but your the boss.
so i dont need to do anything then?

Oh, nothing's set in stone, Ross. I was just illustrating that the archives have no distinction, I guess I prefer the title "Custom of the month" to "Customs of the month" but I really am cool either way.

Not do anything? You're still organising it all aintcha? Or arntcha?

So, what? People still upload their images to the customs forum as always, and then have a separate thread for monthly submissions? One custom per member?

Then on the 25th or whatever lock the thread and create a poll with one vote per user (I am in favour of the "allow users to change their vote" option) and post the winning gallery / galleries on the 1st of each month?

Actually, that kind of takes care of itself. All it takes is creating a new thread each month, locking it which only I can do and then creating a poll.

No, I don't need you! LOL Go watch DS9!

Let's wait until Paul logs back on before setting anything in motion.

What about holding the "Custom of the Year" of the 8th of October? Last year everyone sent me their submissions, I held a draw and posted them on. Doing that via Hong Kong may prove a tad expensive!

We also need to consider a way to factor in customisers who don't post, be a shame not to include Jimbo, JinSaotome and TheLongestDay, or should I take the hard line?

put word about, invite people but i think you should only include people who post here, those who make the effort!
to be honest, i think a few people will find it a bit disorganised.
yeah, better wait for paul.
