WTF George?
Re: WTF George?
I love Firefly! One of my favourite shows in many years. It just seemed to connect with me, and the hopeless wanderlust I had at that time. I want to get time to watch it again with MrsD, but I worry she'll not like it as much as I do.
Other great shows I was enjoying around that time - Angel (massively underrated, currently rewatching and about ti start Series 5) and Gormenghast - one of my favourite books of all time and the BBC did it justice in the show.

Thinking about it Serenity felt very much like a modern version of Blakes 7.

As we've sort of turned this into a TV shows thread - I'm excited for the Secret of Crickley Hall tonight. One of my favourite books of the last number of years - I literally had to keep reading - so looking forward to seeing it on TV tonight.

Steve, Tan loved Firefly, much more than BSG. I think its hard not to like Firefly. Especially if you watch them all in sequence. Ed, in retrospect it is similar to Blakes 7, only difference is the captain was a soldier not a everyday kind of chap. 2 great shows.
What is this Secret of Crickley hall? Sounds like the Famous Five.

Let me tell you, Gunner La-De-Dah Graham, the British Army can fight anything! Intimate or not!

A a Ghost story chopper, by James Herbert. First part was enjoyable, but not as good as I'd hoped it would be. The book is amazing, and it's lost some of the slow burn and atmosphere in the translation to tv it seems.

Herbert? Cool. Did you ever read the Santaroga barrier?

No, not read that one Chopper. I've not read many yet to be honest. Just picked up Ash as one of my next to read, and (I think) Moon, as it was only £1 when you bought the paper the other day! So a few in my "to read" pile now!

Re: WTF George?
J.J. Abrams is feeling better and ready to come back into society after interfacing his fundament with yet another black hole.
Oh, and he isn't directing Star Wars VII, but he did think about it.

Think about that. He thought about it and the world is still spinning on the same axis.
Imagine the size of the black hole involved.
Maybe that facker Sorkin from the 'West Wing' will be brought in to liven things up a bit
