Yeah, one of the down sides to Chap Mei stuff too. Disproportionate firepower. Hot red knobs on the end is just silly.

Scorpions are awesome vehicles. Dad has some pics he took of RNZAC Scorpions back in the 80's. We had 6 in our car park, they were visiting the old man on the way through to Waiouru. I'll be back in NZ next month and see if I can dig them out.

Hi guys,

I went to see "Just Jane", the WWII Lancaster bomber, strut her stuff along East Kirkby's landing strip on Saturday:

Image

Jane's not flight worthy (the owners are working on it) but she is able to move under her own power and regularly performs taxi runs on the museums grass runway.

The B.B.M.F. provided a couple of classics to entertain the crowd:

Sadly the weather was overcast, hence, these aren't the most stunning of pictures to do justice to their superb display:

The theme for this weekends event is Lanc', Tank & Military Vehicles, so they're the usual re-enactors & displays dotted around the airfield:

Another main event was not one but two M-36 Jackson tank destroyers, both of which demonstrated their impressive fire power:

On the collecting front, earlier in the week, I competed my set of Super Deetail :sas: soldiers when I found the guy in "tossing

.. hand grenade" pose ;-)
Cheers

Bank Holiday Car Boot Booty:
Image

The inshore lifeboat was acquired from 3 different stalls from two different boot sales over two days.

One nice conditioned boat with good crew but no outboard motor (25p) + One better conditioned boat without crew or outboard (10p) + One slightly tatty boat with no crew but outboard motor(£1) = One top notch condition boat complete with crew & outboard motor (total £1.35). :-D

The nice conditioned boat, by swopping crew & motor over, replaced the one from my childhood which was complete but had badly discoloured with age.

I think these lifeboats, made by Britains toys, were only available in R.N.L.I. shops.. I remember buying my original one from the lifeboat station on the end of Cromer pier back in the early 80's.
