Its a trap.

That gun is very similar to the one my Son has. Less than 5 years old, too.

Yup, he knows the difference. :-) His .22 is a bit better on bunnies than his Hasbro blaster.

I'd wager you played with toy guns, Ed. I had an SMLE cap gun I used to take everywhere.

Nice, was it one of those die-cast metal affairs with the plastic fittings & strap?

Not so much really, I did have a green plastic M-16 complete with sparking effect that made the rat-a-tat-tat firing noise, we all had them of course & all of the kids on the estate would play war games.. my best mate had a super cool looking die-cast metal Luger pistol cap gun (made by Lone Star) which I was in awe off.

I remember the Lugers. I'm betting I'm a touch older than you, Ed. The cheapy M-16's started rolling out in the mid eighties. My SMLE was plastic with a metal cap firing mechanism. I didn't care about the cap gun, I just loved it. Funny thing is, I have a real one now.

I inherited an Air-fix Tommy gun from my uncle, real nicely detailed plastic (about 1/2 scale-is) it was, it was a bit broken but still fired the plastic bullets.. well the few left which he hadn't lost. Many years later I discovered that Air-fix had also produced an SLR, they go for crazy money now-a-days.

Is the number plate original? That looks smashing, as they would say in whizzer and chips.

Cheers Mark :-D

Yeah that's the original number plate. I had one of these when I was a wee lad, this is a replacement I got a few years back, seem to remember owning that before Action Force was available so the reg' number must just be coincidence.
I've yet to put batteries in . it should travel forwards with the turret sweeping from side to side, the motor was very powerful, easily running over toy cars or any other obstacles put in its way :-)

These Scorpions also turn up with a different gun barrel that's a lot thicker and features a red light up "firing effect" end, often in desert cammo, but it makes them look too toy like for my tastes.
