It looks like I'm a little late to the thread, but I'll provide my opinion anyway.

I definitely like the idea, and the price seems fair for a limited run. However, since I just got back from the convention, I would unfortunately be in no position to spend that kind of money anytime soon.
Of course, it sounds like this is a moot point by now. Still, I hope you don't entirely give up on the idea.

I will be firing up the Clone Factory once more in the weeks to come and SAS heads are certainly a possibility and should cast nicely. Would there be much other interest?

There's a thread showing the various ones and I've got loads ready to ship (other than RAH heads, as they have proved to be in demand, but I've got the slaves working 25hour days to fix up a batch of them, so only a matter of a day or two!)
PM me if you want any once you have checked out the thread?

I've been away all weekend so have pretty much missed the boat on this thread.
I can understand and appreciate the enthusiasm for making new Red Shadow figures but I don't think this is the way to do it. Comparing Action Force collecting to GI Joe collecting is a skewed comparison. GI Joe is worldwide, it's massive, it has been running consistenly for over 25 years. Action Force is tiny, it's pretty much the regular members of this forum, it died 25 years ago. The numbers just don't compare.
We looked into copyrighting the names and producing our own range last year until we hit the same wall. The only way to make it viable is to do it on an enormous scale which we can't afford to do. Now if we can manage to pull off the BFTB convention this year I would dearly love to have an exclusive figure, but it's more likely going to be made in SteveD's garage than anywhere else.
This weekend's Blades Convention Exclusive is really heartening. I suspect we can kiss Q Force and Space Force goodbye and sadly, the same can probably be said of Z Force, as they have no real place among the Joes. But SAS, they're based upon an actual unit, in fact it was this that attracted me to the toyline as a child. The majority of the customs in our archives are Red Shadows, with SAS a distinct second place.
I honestly feel that the only way to do this is through Hasbro. They already have the manufacturing, merchandising, distribution and reputation established, all of which would be damn near impossible for us to achieve let alone compete with. Over the past five years international interest in the Red Shadows has continued to grow due to this website and the DDP resurrection. At the end of the day I'd be just as happy to see the DDP designs made into toys as I would the original Shads.
All it takes is for us to convince Hasbro and the GI Joe community. We have the opportunity through the Hasbro Q&A sessions we have been invited to, all we need to do is make our voices heard. And that won't cost us a bean. That said, now is not the right time, we need to wait for the movie buzz to die down or our voices will be drowned out.

Same here.
As much as I would love to buy a couple sets, there's no way I could afford the price tag.
