Good for them :)

If folk can put personal acquisition, greed, flipping, or otherwise aside, remember the money after costs goes to a family who lost a loved one, sure perhaps a few things went higher than what some were prepared to pay, but that's the beauty of an auction .... and there will always, always be a bigger fish out there :)

Kudos to them and it's not the last of the collection either, plenty more to come :)

Market forces dictate prices dear chap!! No matter how hard you want something (ooo-er) there's usually someone who wants it more or has deeper pockets!! And like TreeBeard says - it's going to a good and much needed cause, in sad circumstances.

Hmmm, I feel like I have been ripped off.....firstly Vectis charged me £109 for commission and now yet another £101 for creditcard payment and shipping.........WTF?!?! It just added 50% to the total of my 6 lots so I think this will be my last auction with them, almost like Fee-bay is a "free store" after this :D

I'm afraid the only people making money from this are Vectis! I'd heard that they charge commission to the buyer aswell as the seller! Sorry to hear that Rene'

I think that quite a few people who are new Vectis will have been stung by their hidden fees.

About 25% commission, plus postage and charged to pay by card. It's a fair lump of paper!!

If you watch the video in the first post the Vectis valuer puts no value in the small Joes and estimated low. You actually thought those estimates were correct?

I discovered the first Shane Watson auction a day or two after it occured back in February and that's when I started this thread. Then 2 weeks ago I saw a post on Twitter where Vectis was announcing the latest auction so I posted about that in this thread.

Not sure why you're spreading lies about me.

Call it British sarcasm mate, basically the word was spread for this second auction by several people (myself included). I'm happy that this stuff has achieved a good price, Shane's son needs it! It's just such a pity he didn't have the time to offer it all up to the community first :(
