My point is surely if Transforce could be done and made ongoing then there is hope we could have a UK AF convention

I understand the principles behind the scale of an event, however we would need to consider advertising and all other overheads that are involved with putting on an event large or small.Sundance wrote:i think that would depend on where it's held and who's invited. a piss-up down the pub's going to be cheaper than hireing out the NEC and having it hung with Red Shadow banners and populated with a bunch of cheap actors dressed in replica Red Shadow unis...
OBVIOUSLY... it's a matter of scale...
I am sure joecustoms members would be interested too you should see the amount of Shadow customs on thereSundance wrote:well, if it was just a mob of us from here, we wouldn't need to advertise...
at the end of the day if it were to be taken seriously we'd have to have advertise it. It's how you generate interest which in turn generates revenue which would support the forum for years to come.Ironblood wrote:I am sure joecustoms members would be interested too you should see the amount of Shadow customs on thereSundance wrote:well, if it was just a mob of us from here, we wouldn't need to advertise...

Eddie is right. I attend a show in some form every other week, it exhausting, but believe me so much work goes into a gathering of any kind - many of them don't even cover costs - purely becuase the lack of attendance. If it was a forum meet up, genuinley how many from our small community would make it? Who would cover the costs of the venue hire, what would be on offer? What dealers would be prepared to help finance it?gung-hoeddie wrote:at the end of the day if it were to be taken seriously we'd have to have advertise it.
