Mein name ist Muller. Many years ago I in Grentz Schutz Gruppe Neun. It was after the 70s, lots of Bader Meinhoff und so weiter still to mop up, Reds under the bed and 30 klicks from Hamburg, then the new Reds, die Red Shads turn up.

Next thing I know some English dummkopf Karl Buckingham recruits me into this crazy outfit, I jump out of many aircraft with him hunting Der Baron von Eisenblut to slot his crazy ass back to da Middle Ages, along with the 'Black Major' (really Karl's second cousin once removed or something, but I didn't tell you that).

All this war make me real crazy despite my Ph.D's in Counter-Terrorism, Low Intensity Conflict, Post-Conflict Security Management, Dostoevsky and the Existentialists: Whither the Anarchism?, and a book on Elegium Pro Britannia: The German View (with C. Buckingham and Jonesy), keeping me real rational and focused while I walked through all those shrecklich swamps looking for Shads, not to mention that beaut M-16 / M-203 Grenade Launcher combo that I lost after blatting various Laser Exterminators and Red Laser (verdammt samurai sword and shurikens would have made nice ornaments too for the SAS Force regimental mess while I remember it) on Op Bloodhound in '83 (or voz it '84? See BAF for further details), why did Palitoy not issue it as standard, that's vot I vont to know.

Anyway, in 1985 something happened I still don't fully understand. Our war went real deep cover, counter-intelligence referred to Cobra instead of Shads, we were pensioned off without a proper farewell, although we kept fighting the Shads on the quiet.

Spent the last 20 years wondering what happened in between continued bouts of resurgent Shad activity. Sometimes I seem to be in a military psycho-therapeutic unit with doctors telling me there were no battles in the Galapagos, none in the Argentinian pampas, none in the Highlands, that there were not even any Krakens found wandering lost when Cobra pensioned them off, not to mention Skeletrons and confused Mutons accosting members of the public asking for directions to the nearest Action Force high-value target.

Sometimes I wonder vot we fought for.

:stalker: "GET IN THE BACK OF THE JEEP!"
:quick: "Finally, a forum where I can express my pent up angst about the last days and strange disappearance of the good ol' Z, Q, SAS, Space Force units and their arch enemies the Red Shads in 1985... whilst completely avoiding schadenfreude..."

:zforce: Later, back at the Z Force base (Z Force still being either stuck in the desert fighting the Gibli or in the jungle fighting the Mamba....)

:eagle: "It's ok everyone. It will always be 1983, we got loads of time to track Ironblood and his evil henchmen down!"
:stalker: "So Bloodhound is back on?"
:eagle: "Yup."
:barracuda: "Good, I need zome exzitement, even if I must sit in dee boat with zee stupide Stakeout just to get my hand on a deezent weapon."
:sparrow: "I need some decent HALO jumps... you got a Hercules or even a Chinook for us now Chopper?
:chopper: "I'm still working on it... maybe next year if we're lucky, you'll have to imagine one for now..."
:beaver: :hunter: :blades: "Can we come along too? Oh please."
:eagle: "You'll get your own stories in BAF so pipe down! Now, let's discuss lessons learned from taking out the Red Shadows' Soviet-designed amphibious landing craft as used in the Galapagos before they start sussing our tactics and get an upper hand..."

Exeunt Omnes. The End.

Hello Folks, at thirty-plus I seem to be one of the ones who first bought Action Force when it was for sale in the early eighties. It was all I ever bought or asked for Xmas/birthday etc, so I had pretty much had the whole collection (less a couple of things; Z-Force Doc, which eluded my grasp, Z-Force Base, which was too expensive at the time, Hyena and SAS MMS) by the time AF (read GI Joe) came along and I gave up the cause.

As some others seem to have done, I got them out of my Mum's attic a few months ago for my son, but have been repairing them, adding to 'our' collection via Ebay and inspired by this site, have tried a few modifications since. I have been lurking on the site for a couple of weeks after finding it during a search. I thought I might trawl through the old topics, as there are a few discussions that interest me, and throw in a post or two.

Hello,
Just joined and thought i would pop in and say Hello.

I'm your resident American Desert Dweller. From the land of sand, rocks, buttes, and rattlesnakes. Around here the only green you see is in a salad. Don't ask me why I am here because the heat fried my brain so I can't remember why i'm here or how it came to be. I'm in my low thirties and have been into GI Joe since '82. I discovered Action Force years ago when Marvel comics brought some of the issues over as GI Joe European Missions. Soon after i started tracking down the Original UK issues. Its very nice since most are stories not realeased here. As for AF toys, i only have a few UK items such as the AF MMS, Stalker figure, the fan club kit, and comics. Its tough to get AF stuff in the USA. This place is great for information. i hope to enjoy my stay here. :stalker:

Just realised that after 2 and a half years of using the site I've never bothered introducing myself.

Sorry!!!

My name is Alex, and I've just turned thirty a couple of days ago, been collecting Action Force since I was about 6, lost my whole collection when I was eleven. We were moving from Warkwickshire to Lincolnshire, and whilst I was at school my mum gave all my toys away to my cousins, who have never spoken to us since. Ungratefuls. Still haven't forgiven my mother.

At twenty I went travelling to India for two years, when I returned, I discovered that my grandmother had moved house and left my 2nd collection behind when she moved, by accident. Never got 'em back!!!!

I've just finished completing, again, my Action Force collection, which made me feel great, but still on the look out for more!!!

HAHAHAHA.

Am currently living in Manchester as a HR director for a large multi national, but am in the process of moving to the Nottinghamshire countryside and am taking up a similar postion with a rival company.

Have already boxed the Action Force and they are safely stored ready for the move, they should have enough room to have their own room/loft/garage to be played with in!!!!

Only really interrested in the Palitoy range, not really interrested in the Hasbro stuff but some of it fits quite well, but will collect any thing that can be utilised for the original figures.

Am also just finishing hunting down the run of Battle Action Force, only a few more issues to find.

Hello
My name is Jeremy but I'm known on most boards as PoetFlint.
I'm an American from Pennsylvania, I recently turned 29. I grew up on GI Joe and like to read as much as I can about it, so I was intrigued when i found the old Battle Action Force Comics, becuase i got to read more stories that i never had before, as well as reading all of the cool characters you guys have on your side of the pond,
ex:
wheels
eagle
the Baron
the rest of the shads

I customize the 3.75 inch figures, and am currently working on my Red Shadow Army, I am unfortunately slow with getting pics of things but when i do i will be posting some here. In the future i will also be planning on making some of the other characters (or atleast my version) of them as well.
