no, it's a US soldier in Afghanistan who was woken up to fight in a battle and didn't have time to get dressed properly. i saw it on ITN news...

Speaking from experience i think the fabric would hold it for a while but some would fall out the bottom first and then start coming through the silk.

I remember being told (by a mate who was in Army Cadets) that during the Falklands war that, the Marines who suffered from direar, just cut a hole in their underware & trousers, in order to keep on marching..but this may just be, & I'm hoping, a urban myth?
