Two days ago on the news there was a story of a Hells Angels guy in Sydney who had his HA tat's removed with a blowtorch whilst being tortured by the rest of the gang. Must have been a Dreadnok. Still Aussie bikers are pansies compared to Kiwi ones.

I haven't heard of them Bill. The 2 big ones over there are the Mongrel Mob and Black Power. Both hate each others guts. The movie "Once were warriors" is pretty good as a basic idea. But they are violent beyond my abbilites to describe them. I grew up in 2 North Island towns, one was the city in "Once were Warriors". The guy that wrote it, Alan Duff, is a friend of my Mums, and his Dad used to hunt a lot with my Granddad. We all know the truth, just don't speak of it.

Anyway we all knew what was going on in the homes of these people it it really turns my stomach. Again I can't really describe it. I was going to post some scenes from the movie but they are too violent and yet not really violent enough. For example a man was prosecuted last year for killing his 3 yo Granddaughter, he tortured her for her whole life. Treated her worse than a mongrel dog, beat her, threw her, kicked her. That's not unusual either. Makes me so damned mad.

They have no regard for human life. In the Maori's heyday they were cannibals that practised in infanticide and also used slaves as food. Sometimes they would eat them alive in front of their families while using them as pack horses during wars with neighbouring tribes. What annoys me is the suppression of this by the govt in an attempt to keep the Maori's happy, I.e. not upset the apple cart, by glorifying their history. It needs to be said. Its well past time everyone was treated like New Zealanders.

I had one incident when I thought I may have to shoot someone and I never want to be there again. Bloody scary.

Anyway, sorry if that brought you down mate, it does me, but I feel the truth needs to be told lest it be repeated.

sh*t man that sounds rough.
i saw once were warriors and the follow up but cant remember the name of it.
ross kemp (british actor in eastenders) did a show on various gangs and featured the mongrel mob and black power in 1 of the episodes.
i cant remember the name of the town where i met the lost breed but it was the first town i stayed at in the south island. i got into a bit of trouble with a drug dealer in a bar and thought i was dead. i was hanging with a biker gang in belfast called the chosen few (real bad bastards) and somehow managed to talk my way out of a serious kicking. after that it was party central. they were only a small gang at most 20-25 members but some pretty crazy cats. the top boy had his leg in a brace kinda like mad max and he took me under his wing and really looked after me.
i didnt know anything about the maoris and anyone who hurts a kid should be terminated as painfully as possible. i worked with childrens services over here for about a year and it was the most stressful year of my life, saw some pretty disturbing stuff. the picure of the maoris i got was nothing like you've described but i guess i just got the sanitised, tourist version.

I feel like a prick for replying the way I did, sorry man. It was a real downer of a post and I probably shouldn't have.

The South Island has fewer gangs and/or Maori's. In the origianl settlement days it was too cold to live there in grass skirts. Also the South Island is generally more civilised anyway ;) Even if there were a lot of Scots settling there. My folks are in Queenstown, heading there later in the year. Don't get me wrong she is an incredible country which I've been fortunate enough to see a hell of a lot of. I get homesick a lot, the Hunting and Fishing is unmatchable anywhere in the world. The bush is incredible, really indescribable to those who have never seen it. Just watch "Lord of the Rings', there isn't a huge amount of CGI in those shots of the Southern Alps. Dammit, I'm getting home sick now ;)

"What becomes of the Broken Hearted" was Duff's sequel btw.

sorry again mate

Mark

dont worry bro i've seen some crazy sh*t here and worked for a while with ex republican and loyalist prisoners so have met some really dangerous individuals. only thing worse than someone willing to die for a cause is someone willing to kill for it.
i get wound up sometimes when tourists come here and only see the guinness and shamrock side of life
sh*t dude you got me doing it now

quick subject change-

Queenstown is 1 of my favourite places in the world, feckin loved it.
met an australian princess there called Roz who thought i was a "spunk" had a laugh telling her what it meant here ;-) , tried bourbon for the first time and pretty much had the time of my life.
cant remember much but will never forget what i do.

lol.

we've got a biker gang over here & although most of them are fairly harmless, the "sgt. at-arms" is a complete psychopath!
this guy used to be a boxer, obviously hit in the head too much, big canadian guy & one of the scariest guy i have ever met (ive met a lot of very scary people) when he is sober he is semi stable, but if he's drinking (most of the time) he can flip for no reason. decided he wanted to kill me one night & if it wasnt for one of the other members knowing me & stopping him long enough for me to get out of is sight i'd probably be dead! same night he started a fight outside one of the bars we go to & i saw him take on about twelve nepalis bouncers & was coming out on top until a load more turned up with metal pipes & broke his skull. all his fellow gang members had already run away by this point & i was quite happy leaving him in the gutter to die (world would be a better place) but julia (my wife) held his head together (literally) & kept him awake until the ambulance got there & saved his life. he was in hospital for about 3 months & now he worships the ground she works on! still scares the hell outa me & i hate being around him but im not quite as worried as i used to be! pisses me off coz he seems a bit to familiar with her.

the nepalis are even worse by the way, they can be nice guys but are the most viscous b@#tards if you cross them & always stick together! a few nep gangs out here, the worst is called the nepalis 1st, a nepalis guy i know went in a bar for a drink when he first arrived in hong kong, a group of guys approached him not realising he had only just arrived, asked if he was nepalis 1st, when he said no they smashed a glass & stabbed him in the neck. he finished his drink before going to the hospital. he is only in his early 20's & has a real baby face, the club he works @ is very exclusive & he's a real hit with the ladies but this guys torso is just covered in stab wounds!
