he must have an impressive army by now ! he has outbid me a few times, I dont bother bidding on them anymore.paul463 wrote:I sent our man johnigoe a PM to ask how many he actually had but he never responded. I always go for shadows in mixed lots of figures got a lot at the weekend with five figures in including a shad for £3.20. I have given up chasing these just now, I stick to my no more than a fiver for a shad rule!
Goofbay's snipe tool has got a lot to answer for! I use it - saves you bidding and rebidding, can prevent you being shilled, as they dont really get chance, and you can pull the "snipe" if you change your mind. Evens the odds a bit. But i really shouldn't be telling you guys that as my potential rivals on items!Golden Puma wrote:There's a single Shad just about to finish, it's always ben like this but recently the number of bids that come in in the last 30 seconds is staggering
I thought it was quite well used around here already? You simply put your max bid in, and it bids it for you in the last few seconds automatically, and thus gives others very little chance to stick a bid in. I find it really good for auctions that finish at difficult times, or US ones to allow for time difference. I've won several items that I dont think I'd have won otherwise, for a lot less. Although now I'm sharing the knowledge it may be that I never win an auction again! I mainly use it as it seems to eliminate the possibilty of shill bidding a bit.Golden Puma wrote:What is and how does the snipe tool work, is it automated, can't not fill us all in now. Ive been bidding on a few items recently and have lost out on several occassions to the same user to what I would imagine is a no holds barred monster bid at the death. lucky there weren't any mutts around me at these times
