I was hoping folks had forgotten about "Giraffe Shadow" (and then I inadvertantly posted a pic of him!) - that was one head sculpt that went a bit wrong!



For the avoidance of doubt that's the one that went wrong! My others are lots better. Like the CG there.

Anyway, back to the proper thread, as tis a good thread, and doesn't deserve to be jacked by me (for once) - sorry!

With the new Shads I'd be interested to see how the red stands up next to, well, the origianl red. It looks very, erm, red to me.

it does look v v shiny and bright but the preview photos have a habit of doing that. my cobra mercenary pack was the same in pics and it looked a lot more normal when I got it.

I am having to scrap a load of shadow custom figures so my self created ones fit in with the look of these though. not sure if that shows how much I like the new ones or how much I dislike my customs...

Glad you guys liked the post. I certainly didn't want to come of as some American braggart. But a few poor word choices could have easily tipped it in that direction. So I'm happy to say I got my point across

Ive seen a lot of customs on this forum that are better.

The head is a nice sculpt but the paint job is terrible, those eyes are worse than the dufus shad.


Sorry to rain on the parade, just my opinion.

From the way that one's posed in the photo' it appears to have been based more on the Battle Action Force comics depiction of the rather than the orignal figures themselves, but then I guess that's how most people in the states know them.

Give it 25 years and they will probably look the same shade of red as our current one!

I'm baffled by some of the stuff on Hisstank about these. Firstly they criticise the head, but it's fairly pointless to point out the AF figures were far better scale than the o ring era balloon heads. Secondly they seem disappointed they weren't US figures. Dissappointing - even my 3 year old knows people have to share...
