I'd like to know too, but I've never watched Lovejoy.
However, I once read a Donald Duck comic where Donald sends Huey, Dewey and Louie to a Summer camp so he could go sailing in response to a "help wanted" announcement from a ship. The crew laugh at him since he's too young to be a good sailor, so he tries to stay at the camp with his nephews (since they are gonna have fun fishing) but the counselor kicks him for being too old to be at the camp. Was it something like that?

So where did he go? Hes not a sailor or at camp so hes on the street now?

He dresses like a Sailor! (the duck, I mean, not Lovejoy). Although whenever I say Lovejoy I now get him mixed up my head with Tim Lovejoy - presenter of SocCer AM back when it was funny still.
