I think he must be related somehow ? how did the original Kraken get trapped in the ice ? where did he come from ?

Cheers Mark, I took the name Cain from "Cain and Abel" the biblical character that killed his own brother. I just thought it was a dark sounding name ?

Never read that story Dark indeed, in Buck Rogers it was a similar story of a good guy gone bad and he was called Killer Kane.

Maybe it was also based on the biblical Cain. The guy has inspired many stories, being the first killer and such. He is even shown as himself (with some artistic licenses) in the Vampire roleplaying game.
