NOPE! That was all pure propaganda. GI Joe just felt sorry for all those other countrys and they wanted the rest of the world to feel like they are part of the team. Spirit was not actually an indian, I think he was a surfer from Florida. Oh yeah, on more little known fact. Snakes could talk. He just liked to be quiet in public, because it made him seem mystrious. The ladies just ate that up.

Well, Lady jaye was born a man, but because of the ban on gays in the military and the "don't ask don't tell" rule they could not put that in the filecard. Other than that, I think GI JOe was straight up honest with us.

Actually he can talk as he did when Scarlett was in a coma and he shouted her name out in #102 oh and Spirit is from New Mexico
