Sorry for joining the thread late in the day - just to say the listings are fine, hope you do really well with them, and I find myself in the bizarre situation of hoping I DONT win Blades with the bid I've just placed!

Best of luck,
Steve

partially for fear of overspends early into the pay month, and partly because the figure deserves to go for much more than I've bid on it! I've already got two, but yours is in such perfect condition I couldn't resist a bid!

The old Sunday night "oh go on then" bid!

thankyou! i hope it goes for more too, and to think it nearly ended up in a charity shop!! my addiction is books so i get your point on overspends... just to let you know 27 people are watching it!!! there will be more stuff coming next week from the house clearance so hopefully will find more 'gems'

i dont know if you or anyone else knows a lot about star wars but a guy on here said i have a original vinyl caped jawa, ive looked on net and apparently you are supposed to get them verified but you have to post it off...hmmmm im a bit cynical for that!

Not a chance! Let the buyer take that risk if he likes, but there's no way that can be ebay policy.

Hmmm... actually if you wanted to send me that Blades figure I'll be happy to verify it for you.

nice try lol apparently its a private company that verifies alsorts of toys etc... and seals them in a clear box (yeah after he swapped em for a fake!) at the end of the day its been in loft for donkeys years so its genuine! ive got loads on auction at mo so will put him on next week.

Yeah, your jawa is very rare.

There are tons of fakes of it about as its so easy to buy a fake cape that looks 99% right - indeed I have one myself.

The place to send them off to is in the USA - the 'Action Figure Authority' or AFA as everyone calls them.

They charge a fee and grade the figure from 10 [mint] down to 1 [buried in the garden].

They then encase them in a clear plastic case.

If your figure is in good nic, then it might be worth doing it as the re-sale value will be at least £120, maybe up to £200 for a great conidition V-C-J.

Selling as it is should return about £60 quid, though. There'll be less bidders willing to risk it because of the abundance of fakes.

I would try and get them listed before these auctions finish. I often bid on stuff I probably wouldn't if I'm buying from the seller already, especially if they mention that they combine postage.

I'm the same - always get sucked into an extra bid or two if the Seller will combine. Tend to look at their other items before I "check out" too, so always a good idea to start listings before current batch finish.

The AFA are pretty reputable for grading stuff Jen - although it would involve it taking a flight to America and back. Has it got it's gun still? Folk in the USA go crazy for them if it's complete.

Is there no-one else who can verify it? I think putitng in the backstory "sealed in a box in a loft for twenty years" would be enough to convince me. Dunno, though... If it triples the value it may be worthwhile.
