their a little sore that the con was set on /or around the same time as their con is every year

which is quite understandable

and give to to Sundance to put a damper on things AGAIN

youre going to find negativity wherever you look guys, not everyone is happy with this set every where.

BUT THE MAJORITY are, the minority are the ones who are complaining and 99 percent of those people never buy anyways and will never buy

bottom line is this, you want the RED SHADOWS to return, you buy this set, you dont buy this set, then stop whinning and asking for Red SHadows

this is the time to put up or shut up. Hasbro is watching as well as the club .

We will see what happends

JUST MY 2 cents and IMVHO

It's the 2010 take on them, not everyone will like them. I Love the Major, Think the torches are ok and not sure about flint, but he wasn't from my era of AF. So looking forward to seeing the Shads. And in a perverse sort of way I hope they are like the 83 Cobra troopers in red! Unless of course SteveD has been pumping out shad heads like Billyo (insert Gag here..........................)

Like Jamar says we wanted them back they are here so lets embrace them.

Exactly. We can all sit here and criticise aspects of the designs until the cows come home. Or we can embrace this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that we've solidly worked towards for the last seven years. Hasbro are clearly watching, nobody else has been waving the Red Shadows flag.

The Joecanuck issues stretch further than the convention figures. Let's not bring it here, they have their own forum to air their grievances. Normally I'd welcome the opportunity to discuss absolutely anything, but not here and not now. This is absolutely pivotal to the heart of BFTB and the future of Action Force, so please, everyone, let's get behind this!

I for one am totally excited about this... We haven't had anything like this since the '90s-something convention that rereleased versions of Action Force characters Steeler, Quarrel, Blades, etc. for an American market... They didn't have any of the Shadows, though, so we need these guys on our side of the Atlantic...

To be honest i love the idea of the shadows being included in the set and i am buying both sets because more than anything i really want them to make a comeback. Unfortunately the execution is not to my liking.

The black major is quite close to the original apart from the hair colour and the new need for a whip
Flint looks like a really bad corps version of himself and the red torches are just generic o ring toys which do nothing for me.
The flame thrower reminds me of the one that came with the a team toys in the 80s

The only thing that keeps me going is the hope that they maintain some respect towards the original shadows in the last 6 figures.
I have always been a palitoy first action force fan and the jointed o ring characters have never really done it for me
While other toys moved forward in style (todd mcfarlane or any of the 2000ad toys) hasbro o rings style offered little

Having said that i am now starting to get to like the articulation of the ROC toys just as they are dying a death which is a pity
The paris pursuit snake eyes and the ice vipers are amazing toys just wish they could use some of them to give us back our action force

I do apologise if i am being negative but i guess i'm a traditionalist and hope that maybe just maybe if we ever do see action force in the shops again it will be in a style honoring its past. For now though i just hope they give me the enemy i have always loved.

Clam shell heads please . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Though i'm sure i'll still buy anything action force that gets produced from whatever setting.
And i'm sure thats all hasbro need to know from me

Have my SAF and hawk on the way
Have the lego from Steve which i think is amazing and a collection of action force that is now about ten to twenty times that which i ever had as a child. So i'm not a bad person to please in the buying stakes. May just need a way bigger house to store it all but anyway!

hey, i was only noting that people seemed to be rather negative in their reactions and was actually wondering if the naysaying might mean that i might get a chance to bag a set when disgruntled fans decided to flog their set off on the bay. and i only mentioned the JoeCanuck forum's apparent negativity to the figures because Jamar was going on with his rose-tinted vision that EVERYONE loves it.

frankly, i've been priced out, so i don't really care what they look like. i'm glad they're being done and hope Hasbro will take notice and create some affordable Shads that i could buy. but other than that...

I know this isn't the relevant section but here is Cobraisland.com's Cobra Collector's rendition of the new Black Major Image As you can see there are people on that site who support bringing back the new sculpts but won't necessarily pay the high prices for them.

I am into toy collecting for nostalgia reasons, not to buy new stuff. I think it is really cool to see the Red Shadows return, but if I don't like their looks I won't be buying. Simple as that.

Jamar is going a little too far with his "Support the cause, draw your credit card & plunge yourself into debt or else stop whining!" type of approach, but bottom down he is just being extremely enthusiastic & trying to motivate people!

Common sense, as always, from LJ!

I personally believe that Jamar, and the Baron, are the driving force behind these sets. It's only recently since I've been having a sneaky peek around other boards to see what they're saying about this Con Set that I've really begun to appreciate how much Jamar and Baron do to continue to raise the profile of Action Force and the Shadows.

I agree - this set are very expensive, and yes, I could have possibly made a set from custom parts but I'm very much looking forward to getting mine, and especially seeing the story behind them as to how they fit in.

And if the Shadows are not a clam head design, then I know a man who could almost certainly help out with that! ;-)

I'll be happy if Hasbro can do a "Dalek" with the :shadow:'s..you know bring the character design slap bang up to date & contemporary looking, yet still being sympathetic to the look & feel of the originals.I believe that the new :major: does this very well, the Torches are new & never before seen :enemy: & the concept of flame thrower troops fits well with :baron:'s rep' I think..

Part of the reason I like the 1st See-gees is thier similarity to the Shad's, who's not to say that if Palitoy had still of been running the show back in the late 80's they wouldn't of been the new :shadow:'s? So personally I wouldn't be disappointed if the new versions are based on Crimson Guards.

In my wildest dreams, if this leads to the :enemy: renaissance, we would see Hasbro's re-imaginings of :muton:, :kraken: et all :-D
