Blood for the Baron!

I have heard conflicting things on the new Trek movie so I'm not sure I want to see it or not but it seems to be fully booked over here having said that I have seen Angels & Demons which was really great and seems to be faithfull to the book from what I remember of it

are his books worth reading? i do read a lot, but not him yet!
wont watch the films until after ive read the books, or the books ruined!

I have only read Angels & demons myself Ross but my mum has read most of Dan Brown's so far and seems to prefer 2-3 of his books

really want to see raimis "drag me to hell" with the missus. bit of an in joke but 1 of the first movies we watched together was evil dead. my cunning plan was snuggle up on the sofa hoping she'd get a wee bit closer at the scary bits
what actually happened was it scared the sh*t out of her and i was thumped, nipped, scrabbed and left black and blue every time she got a fright. i actually had to change seats to avoid a visit to casualty. cunning like a fox, eh?

personally found da vinci code over-rated and pretty predictable.
wouldnt reccomend.

For me, Dan Brown is not a good writer, but i would recommend his books. His style is quite frankly, bad, each book I have found incredibly laboured and clunky to start with. But he has amazing content and ideas, and SUPERB pace, each one rattles along. I don't know how, at some point you just get caught up in it and all of the complaints go out the window. Angels and Demons comes before the Da Vinci code, and is probably my favourite.

Sorry I've been away for a few days, chaps... been skydiving! Yes, when you spend most of your life ill, it's important to live life to the full! Shatner said "Get a Life!" and he was right, love Trek but don't forget to LIVE!
This thread started out as a fun little Star Trek game, so I look forward to reading your comments on the new film when you DO get to see it, Ross & Double Tap. And Malcolm? Once again you've amazed us all!
Star Trek has always been subjective and divisive. The only way for Trekkers to get along is to agree to disagree from time to time.

I have read several of his books now, part of the problem i think is that at the beginning of the Da Vinci code is that Mr Brown says all the facts in the book are true, sadly many people have taken it as fact which has brought a mediocre book into the limelight, i rushed out to buy a copy and thought it was crap. The way he wrote the historical 'facts' was an interesting interpretation, but the story itself was slow with no real character development.

the Daily Mirror did an article proving a load of his facts in DVC were complete bollocks. for one, he didn't even get it right about which church Charles and Di married in...

Mate it's fiction, while I appreciate that getting the research right would be good its only a story to entertain you. So you either like it or not. And I wouldn't believe "facts" from the Mirror either.
