and actually, if we never get any more stuff from the club or Hasbro, I still feel really lucky, happy, content, and like we accomplished what we set out to do 5 years ago.

cant wait to get my stuff

( oh and didnt the staff car sell out too at the con? I was told it did, doesnt make sense why that did but I was told it did )

Yep, the staff car and the Red Shadows T-Shirt are the only Items I know of that sold out at the con.

Now here's something to ponder over. Is the reason the exclusives didn't sell out due to the characters or the toy parts they used?

My example being the T-Shirt. There were two different con shirts this year, a black Red Shadows one and a green Adventure Team one. The club made more AT shirts than Shad shirts because apparently they can't make an even number of shirts for both versions. (seriously, they told me they always make more of one shirt than the other one) Now if the shirts were selling out because they were con shirts I would assume there would be more AT shirts sold, but from what I understand the Shad shirts lasted a very short time. People in line on Thursday night for Pre-Registration couldn't get them because they were already sold out. And while at the con, I saw at least 5 Shad shirts being worn for every one AT shirt on someone's back.

Now that tells me everyone really liked the Red Shadows (Either that or they all just really like black shirts with skull and crossbones on them :D )
The 3 3/4 shirts have sold out the last 4 years. According to the club roundtable the membership of the club is 60/40 12" vs 3 3/4" collectors (figures based on the membership free figure choice for the year) but con attendees are 30/70 12" vs 3 3/4" (based on con set choice for registration). According to Brian Savage they base production runs on the prior con's shirt sales. in this case the shads shirt sold out by 9pm on Thursday night. i reccomended that a t shirt pre-order would be nice for those who wanted to (basically many fans buy the shirt for thier type of joe regardless what the design is) but it would apparantly further slow down check in.

the Staff car was ok but I suspect more sales were "this is going to be a great mark up on ebay" than "I need more cars for my shadows" If they had done a Hyena or some type of update to the shadowtrac I would have bought multiples of those but a recylces IJ4 mold - i bought one but only becuase it was shads

the # of remaining box and baggie sets are really low I expect this will be the first set to sell out before the next con since 2002

Interesting and insiteful Tracks - thanks for sharing. I often wondered what the weighting was, as it strikes me that in recent years the 3 3/4 sets & fanbase have seemed to be getting bigger, but then I dont have much to do with the 12 inch communities, so I'm kind of blinkered!

Like the Avatar Shogi, new and old fit well together.
When confronted by a difficult problem you can solve it more easily by reducing it to the question. How would the Lone Ranger handle this?

It's not the same but we do have our very own BFTB Red Shadow t-shirts from Dave Tree they are only £14 with postage depending on where you are and are good quality.
Spock, where the hell's the power you promised?

I straddle both eras I had 12" in the 70's and collected RAH

the 12" community is less online/forum based due to their age bracket (and the timless collection btwn Joe and AM has resissued most of the best sets) the #'s fit becuase till 02 all convention sets were only for 12" collectors. Now that kids are in college there is less money to attend a convention for most 12" fans where the 3 3/4 fans are in their earning prime and those that have kids the kids are younger (the oldest RAH fana er in their late 30's and most are in their early -mid 30's where the youngest 12" fan is 38 (ie were 4 in 76 when 12" AT stopped and most are over 55) In the UK since AM went into the 80's I bet the age gaps are closer but you all have an ocean to cross to attend a convention

I'm sort of surprised the base hasn't sold out...I was sort of thinking that some them there fanatical Star Wars completest collectors would go mad for it.
More news, as its made, from new Action Force!

Thanx man! I thought they made an impressive army with the few vintage ones I had. I also added an "easter egg" of sorts in the picture. One of the new ones is not like the others :)
