For repo parts, guys. we have SteveD
Tri-gate usually does all original molds, they design/sculpt everything new themselves To avoid any legal problems
Very different things

And Tr-gate parts look to be awesome quality! Whereas mine are made in the spare bedroom before I head to work!

I'd like to see a nice British compromise here.
I'd imagine doing a 'vintage-style' custom would be easier. Less time sculpting, less parts to make, less detail, less paint... So if the potential for selling is lower, then that is partly compensated by the lesser effort required in the making.
If a modern style figure was make, it would seem plausible to me to keep the head sculpt and recreate a simplified vintage style body to accomodate it.
2 versions of the same figure - modern and vintage. The torso's, arms and legs could be mdified from existing figures fairly easilly I would have thought.
Legal issues would surely not be an issue. We are talking about selling a hundred figures here not a hundred thousand.
If SteveD can virtually do this himself in his little cottage industry in his spare room, then surely a 'semi-professional' outfit can do something similar....

Im not for sure if you think Im arguing with you or anything ( the compromise statement ) but Im not. the straight limb guys hold a special place in all of our hearts here and if a SWS team was done in straight limb or 25th style I would buy it. Im just stating the fact that there would be a lot more people interested in 25th style than our beloved straight limb.
I know your not the only one that only prefers the straight limb but theres still a hell of lot more people who want the new style sculpting
again no compromising here as Im not arguing with you , just stating fact

I think everything that has been posted is a fair assessment of our needs as collectors. I would love to be able to do some custom SWS guys (don't have time to do customs really). So some parts to do straight limbed stuff and the like would be great.

I personally wouldn't want repro parts, I'd much rather focus on new releases.

I'm just going to say my bit as I don't often get involved, I would like to see something straight limbed along the original line, I for one can't stand the 25th moulds I think there terrible and I have no interest in them at all, but if something were to done with straight limb in mind it would certainly get me buying. If not then hey ho,

Thanks for all the feedback, and I think something can be done for both the straight arm and 25th as well as arah, what ever is wanted, we can do.
I do not do repro stuff, it has to be sculpted by us, it can be in the same style, and even use bodys and liimbs from older figures, but they will be sculpted over.
if someone wanted to do some kind of special order for say a gun, i could do it, but it it would be done in an off color, dont want any body thinking they are originals. also I don't own very much action force or red shadows, so i may need someone to lend me a copy.
SteveD you do great work my man, you use the bedroom, i use the studio in my house, same, same. I use all smooth-on plastic and rubber mold material.
The plastic is a 2 part resin, and its as strong as hasbro's. Our plastic can not be melted, its really hard to brake something and it does not discolor. Just a couple lil details.
The collectors mind is very different, and Why we want to hear from everybody. Some projects will take longer then others. I would love to see 25th figures, and I would love to see the straight arm, so need to out way one over the other, we will work on trying to make everybody happy.
Lets do this, is it cool to make a poll, and see what is in most demand? Would make it easyer on my side to know what to start on first. We have already started on a few projects for JamarMiller, and jman I think you will be happy with them, as well as some GIJOE extreme characters brought over to the 25th style.
Thanks all for taking the time to post your wants and needs, and thanks for the very warm welcome.
If you have a special request and dont want to post on the forum, you can always just PM me. I do work allot of crazy hours between TRI-GATE and my day business, so if i dont get back the same day, no worries, i will get back.
Thanks
Dave
