I'd say the Baron would be in his 50's or 60's around the first Action Force story so if he was a kid in 1940's he looks kind of old by 1983..(Perhaps he went grey early though) certainly though he has a thing for South America and plenty of Nazis war criminals escaped to that continent worth also looking at how many escaped to Switzerland (plus all the war gold that went there too)The Baron does have a Swiss connection thinking back to the bio .What is strange is the Shadows uniform harks back to Nazi uniform right down to the eagle on shirt and markings on collar ..I think the Barons in it for the money and power though I think he's not too fussy on who he exterminates race creed or colour.
The nice thing about writing a story about Baron and Action Force is that it keeps building itself I suggest you keep going Ironblood make it episodic so you don't leave out the best bits .. What I ended up planning is mega epic may even stretch as far back as 18th Century (whether I do it or not is another matter but one day I'll flesh out the story and see if I can add the script to fan fiction section )

Op Bloodhound took place in South America.
South America was the last refuge of the escaped Nazis post WWII
The first Modern-Era racial-theory inspired German colony in the world, let alone the Americas, was in Paraguay.

and

most recent op before 'another Embassy roof' was recce-ing Darwin on East Falkland and maybe they didn't want to leave the southern hemisphere until Alan Whicker had visited them in Rio or Stanley?
Iconographic and/or meta-historical coincidence?
Perhaps.
Hey, I thought Mr. Tree (hello Dave) had some more

backstory up his sleeve ready for Xmas or New Year. Is the

- gadget unrelated to Project Alpha or wot? Was

gone bad really

? Did someone at Palitoy have a thing for South America?

and

? And that was why they exiled

to Africa and the Pacific? Hmmm
PPS. Maybe

created Ascendancy Island. And

stole it. And the weapons too.

It was kinda the plan, but the amount of time the shop took up over last few weeks limited what could be done. The best way to get round that though is to combine the two together somehow

The project isn't dead, the delay has actually been a kind of blessing in disguise to allow for a different offering of sorts, more info on that soon

This is all very interesting. I like!
Someone needs to produce a canonical account of

origins, incorporating the stuff written here, the fanfic, and covering the events leading up to the first comic appearance. BAF is no more, we are the natural heirs of the toys and the stories, thus it is up to us, and is our responsibility, nay duty, to continue this!

Very good, Mr Ironblood
I had a quick look on Ancestry.co.uk trying to trace the Ironblood lineage. So far drawing a complete blank, although there is an Albert and Ethel Ironblood in the 1911 census. They live in Birmingham, and have 2 sons, George and Insanelustforpower - which is a bit of an unusual name.

Ha! Love that Hopper! Perhaps "Baron" isn't his Christian name? Have you tried "Jim" instead? Jim Ironblood? Just a hunch?

In my fanfic Showdown I have mentioned Red Jackal and Destro as 2 separate people I am thinking of using the abandoned idea of DDP for Cobra Commander and Wilder Vaughn but using the Baron in place of Wilder. Their idea was that CC was a part of Wilder's organisation but splintered off to form Cobra.
