T5s are Ok but still a whiff of the mumsy about them. Is the T5 the 5 pot one?

No wheelspin in mine though, its quoted as a sub 5 second 0-60 and I can well believe it as when it grips it just takes off. We could have a burn off down the strip at the NEC.

It was a t5r - the r is important - was racing model, and a lot more mental! It was like a geography teachers car. Just a very fast geography teacher! That was bizarrely part of the appeal - it looked bland, but was fooking fast! As the coppers had them everyone used to think I was unmarked cop car on motorway and get out my way!

Not got it now - got an accord type r as everyday drive and a 3 door cosworth for the summer weekends.

Used to love the T5 traffic cars for their stealth like appearance, like you mentioned.

My claim to shame was an Alfa 156 that was rocketlike, road-huggingly fantastic until the gearbox fell out overnight and they had the bloody cheek to call it wear and tear.

Now on that continent which gets Europe's designs two years past the sell-by date and where every slight bend in the road sends drivers into a panic ("But I've never needed to use the steering wheel!"). Still at least without licence plates on the front a lot of models look better (well, before the Moose head-butt 'em).

The 6 was built as competition to the Beemer 323i, only it blitzes it, faster, corners better, yada, yada. Mazda's are drivers cars and you feel that when you start driving. Honda's are nice but I could never really warm to them, save the S2000. I'd have one over the BMW any day. BM's are too common for me to want one.

Dad's had a collection of great cars, he used to race a Vitesse in the late 60's, early 70's (hill climbs and sprints). He's had a Series 1 XJ-6 with a 350 chev in it, A Datsun 240Z, GTST R32 Skyline and now a Subaru B4 (twin turbo coffin on wheels). The Skyline is still my fave, I fell in love with them. You have to try to loose it (and I have ;-) ). It snaps back so fast its scary.

Cossy's are another car that I like. Fords that won Bathurst ;-) Japanese cars are common as muck in Aussie, European cars not so much, Cossy's inclusive. If I was rich and nuts, a Aston Martin would be on the cards. Also a Skyline R33 GTR Godzilla and a Toyota Hilux.

Was the Alpha a rear box type, Monky? The Victorian Highway Patrol were rumoured to us RX-7's as pursuit cars, but I never saw one. There are a lot of V-8 touring cars here too.

To tell the truth I don't know - never been any good with what happens under the bonnet, despite every car I've ever owned needing to go through a Haynes Manual worth of expensive garage repairs before it finally croaks. I do know that despite the damn things being so unreliable I'd still love to get another Alfa in the future, and they should be relaunching over here soon.
