With collectors like that Hasbro will never go out of business...& I bet that guy's still not happy with what he's got, & worries that everyones got more than he has.

That looks like the nuckin futs, bloody well displayed too. I think I'd prefer to visit Aire's playroom though.

Not much fun to be had here !!!!

yes they all look very nice but there is no room to play with them !

Toys are no fun whatsoever in boxes and display cabinets .... waste of time and money in my opinion.

I agree... although with enough wrapping paper and sweeties you could pretend that it's Christmas 1983 every day for a couple of years at least opening all Aire's boxes.

Not so keen on the lampshades, though ;)

Andy, spot on mate. This is one of the things I don't really get. OK someone might have say 3 Minesweepers, one MOC one mint loose and one for diorama/handling purposes but why have more than that. He is a particular character and the biography says that there is only one of him so why have more of him? I don't do the army building or diorama thing but if people like it then thats up to them. I just think that collections on a scale like this are obsessive or greedy.
My son has a large collection of Star Wars but he plays with all of it and the boxes are stored in the loft as a future investment. Toys are a good investment and should be preserved and treated with respect but if the very purpose that they were created for which is to play with is forgotten then its means no more than a savings investment account.

Fixed that! :-D

army building is a facet of collecting that some people find hard to understand. As a collector of loose, carded, armies, and pretty much anything that has an AF or GI Joe logo on it I have no problem with this collection. To me, the fact that kept in that condition, bar some sort of armageddon, it is a cast iron investment is just a bonus.
