Does anyone know what the maximum weight an international delivery can be before Customs Charges, please?

I don't think there is a weight limit it is more to do with how much the item is worth.

I think it is supposed to be under £18.00 and a gift = No custom charge but anything over may be subject to it.
Antiques over 100 years old escape any custom charge.

when i was hit with customs charges i was told anything over £20 is automatically charged.
also insured packages are more likely to be hit with fees rather than a standard un-insured parcel

Yep have had quite a few come from the U.S. way over the £18.00/£20.00 mark and have been missed by customs when not insured but when they are insured, I had to pay £8.00 to royal mail+ whatever it was for duty etc total was £9.12 once £1.12 charge and royal mail stiff you even though you have already paid postage and don't get me started on parcel farce.

The other way round (well Canada not the US but essentially...) is slightly more annoying because you tend to have already paid the inclusive VAT in the UK and then pay tax here too. A double bite of the cherry.

sh*t, i got hit for nearly £60 for 2 parcels from the states. pushed a bargain to far more than i was willing to pay. it was parcel force who hit me with fees tho.

I did say don't get me started on parcel farce!
I won an item for $0.99 from the U.S. and the cheeky (expletives) wanted £19.00 charges even though there shouldn't have been any so I told them to ............... and then send it back, I would probably have not swore but the daft woman slammed the phone on the table and I heard her winging so I messed her about i.e. can you tell me where it's from etc she never had the brains to bring it to the phone before saying send it back. Postage wasn't much either so I didn't bother claiming it back from the U.S. seller.

There is more too but that's for another time.
