Could be, I tend to think of Actionman being a UK/EU toyline & brand name, & forget about other markets around the world or assume they just call the line G.I.Joe

.
I think that buggy was a sci-fi Moon buggy over here, but I could (& mostly am) wrong. It's always nice to see another countries & cultures take on a familiar toy line, it's part of what makes toy collecting so much fun for me.

Hasbro should authorize a new movie to promote the newest toys and Dr X's new look.
The plot? Dr X decides to upgrade himself to avoid a new betrayal from Gangrene. Since Dr X hasn't Gangrene to help him, he needs to steal already-built upgrades that are scattered around the world; a polar area (where the Ice X Robots would appear) and an island (where he'll use the fire X Robots). Action Force (Flynt and Redwolf too, despite their lack of figs) should try to stop him, and even the island natives could try to sacrifice AM to a volcano! There are some parts to flesh out, but the general idea is there. Should we tell Hasbro?

Hasbro needs to rethink the Action Man Line altogether
Hasbro is trying to turn itself into a company that owns properties that they make toys on, NOT a TOY COMPANY and so far with the success of Transformers Movie and what looks like a successful GI JOE movie series as well too they are succeding, BUT thats only two lines , Hasbro Cant live off of two lines only. they need to farm thier own hasbro created properties more and not rely on Marvel stuff and Star wars stuff that they pay lots of money for licensing fees.
and that means ACTION MAN, needs to be really really taken care of, and hasbro isnt doing it so far.
First The size : 12 inch is a thing of the past its out of date and it makes vechiles and playsets too big and too expensive. Boys in the USA / Canada and the rest of North America wouldbt be caught dead with a 12 inch doll ( sad to say this I know )
Personally I think they need to do away with the 12 inch line or save it for the older colletors they need to either do it in 3 and 3/4th inch or maybe utilize the Sigma Six body style and size, my vote would be for 3 and 3/4th inch as its extremely popular and everyone is doing it in that scale now it seems
They need to focus on Action Mans team mates and not just RED WOLF and FLYNT they need to go back and use NATALIE POOLE and KNUCK too.
Action Man needs a girl on the team and Natalie Poole is the best for that.
things they need to also do is:
They need to aim the Action man line at the same age groups of GI JOE.
They need to get a GOOD tv show much like the DIC one from 1997
They need to get a good comic, again aimed at the same age group of GI JOE and IDW COMICS
Hasbro is dropping the ball on this and depending way too much on GI JOE TRANSFORMERS and Licences properties like STAR WARS and MARVEL
Hasbro mine you own properties and make them work !
ACTION MAN
MASK
COPS
need to be brought back and made cool

I second most of that, Jamar, except for the size change; if the AM figures shrink down, the toyline would become very similar to GI Joe and Hasbro would be self-comperting, so they should drop one of the two lines, likely Action Man. To survive, the toyline must keep the 12'' scale. However, just like GI Joe releases 12'' figs sometimes, the AM line could also have a sort of "special edition" 3 3/4'' figs of the toy charas (Action Man, Anti-Freeze, Flynt, Dr X, Gangrene, Knuck, Natalie, No Face, Red Wolf, Tempest) to use along the Joes.

Well then they need to use the sigma six scale and body then instead as it was farely popluar and a true rarity in the Action Figure market. 12 inch is just dead.( sadly )
I dont think its really competing though, look at all the other brands hasbro is doing in that scale.
all the marvel stuff is in that scale.

Yes, maybe the 8'' scale is the answer. I'd be sad at a personal level (I try not to get new collections, and sure there would be new charas in the new scale), but at least AM would survive and we would have a new series.
About the Marvel stuff, it's about superheroes, while both GI Joe and AM are about counter-terrorist action heroes (there are similarties with superheroes too, but they are different enough to not compete)

Trouble is, I think Hasbro are relying too much on nostalgia, all the lines you mentioned Jamar, are very well known by us 20-mid 30 year olds.
I know kids love Transformers, but where are the new fresh original toy lines coming from?
Yes it's hard & expensive to come up with something new & original, & established toy lines are a easier market to advertise & sell to..but if something fresh & creative doesn't come along to interest @ new generation,I feel the action figure market will become an adult oriantated market,or worse stagnate & die.
Hasbro need to take more risks, just like they did with the original G.I.Joe & Transformers lines back in the 60's & 80's.

There ARE new collections, Thundershot, like Bakugan. You, me and everyone else seem to forget them because we are more interested in the new stuff of old collections.
