Ha-ha, and surely more seriously

Hadn't noticed before that they use the old term X-Ray instead of Tango, nice touch.

Surely a proper ,,perhaps monthly version of Battle would be great featurung new and old talent(kind of like Dredd magazine..there's talent out there to write and draw war/anti war stories ..Ennis did awesome job on his war stories and Battler Britton.. there is room also for stories about modern conflicts .. I mean my source for the truth was Battle especially Charleys War Johnny Red and Darkies Mob..comics educate at a young age .. knew i wanted no carrer in army after reading Charleys War at Six years old.. i think Misty may proove a hit with Gothy Kids ..meant to be pretty good comic not that I read it myself lol my sisters were Bunty fans

Too true, Fuzzchile, after reading Charleys war my interest in service dropped.

This comic fits in nicely with my old Holiday specials tho ;) With many thanks to SteveD who managed to grab one for me.

Well past half way now, a lot of other projects on the go atm (datafiles etc), so struggling a little. I'm actually quite pleased with the results, tricky to colour, but when you get it right, it looks great.

It is a pretty nasty story, for sure. Actually the big problem I find is motivation. You really have to have your head around where the colouring is going. Unless I'm 100% up to it, it never comes out well. So I'll colour and if I'm knackered, leave it and come back to it later.

I'll try and post a more recent snippet for you when I get home.

Great stuff Chopper; you've reminded me that I must order the first 3 volumes of The Complete Works before I max the credit card out again this month. Just as well Forest have released a crap(-ish) home kit 'cos that's saved me 40 quid until I give in and get it around November.

Just had a quick look on Amazon UK and the good news is that Best of Battle will be available in paperback hopefully soon:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Best-%2522Battl ... 793&sr=8-1*

The better news is that there are over 300 pages in it**.

The best news is it's Volume 1 so we can expect more to come.

(*That link could change so search Amazon UK for Battle Comic if it doesn't work.)

(**Although in another part of the blurb it says 288 pages but who's gonna care about mathematical accuracy?)

That's the same cover as the 78 Annual, isn't it? Cool 8-) Hopefully they will put anything but Charleys War and Johnny Red in there. I hate doubling up on stuff.

I've been reading the annuals of late, and only just realised that The Bootneck Boy is continued from around 1983 to 1988? I was missing a couple till SteveD came to the rescue ;) Bless him.
