Baron Ironblood Custom
Re: Baron Ironblood Custom
Ross, the popular choice seems to be the long-coated Shad, personally I'd like to see classic WWII Shad-style with full articulation.
Re: Baron Ironblood Custom
full articulation isnt possible if i mold myself, & would be very expensive to get made!
long coats are a pain, im talking more army builders, shadow troopers.

Well, as you asked so nicely:-The Baron wrote:Ross, the popular choice seems to be the long-coated Shad, personally I'd like to see classic WWII Shad-style with full articulation.

Wasn't meant to post any pics of these yet, as they aren't finished yet - still got another coat to do and the detailing on them, but I couldn't resist after that Baron! I'll put some better pics on once they are finished.
Still not sure about the shoulder detailing - whether to leave them red or paint them black like the chap in front. And even then I have to straighten out his, as it's wonky, and do the white. So loads to do yet! Man, I must learn to finsih one project before starting seven others!
Basically these were never meant to see the light of day here on the Forum, as they are my experimental first dalliane into the realms of customs and my trying to find which paints worked best for me, hence some of the paint is a bit caked on as I overpainted other paints I didn't like on one or two of them. Ended up with Games Workshop Blood Red.
And after much ummmming and ahhhhhing the Crimson guy is going to stay Crimson. I know they are meant to be Red Shadows, but he looks too cool in Crimson. He can be their leader or something. A disgruntled Crimson Guard who longs for the good old days and sets up his own band of Red Shadows who are guns for hire. I'll think of a background story whilst I finish them off, but I know they are to be called my Red Shadows Elite.
So as I say, still a work in progress, but should be done soon.
Any thoughts on the shoulder details (other than the one I've done so far looks like I painted it pissed). To do black or not to do black - that is the question!

These are fantastic Steve ! especially for your first attempt.
I think they would look better with the black shoulders ...... and some hands ?

They look good, I didnt paint the shoulder detail on mine at first, then I did the shoulders and backs to match the originals and eventually painted on the top of the arms too and they look much better...
Not going to mess around trying to get a white stripe on the shoulders on mine but I think they are pretty close to the originals in look, obviously aided by the original heads...

Hands??? That ruins my whole background story that the two in the background were caught thieving in a middle eastern country and had their hands chopped off, leading to them being disgruntled at the world. They fire their guns with their feet these days.Andy1672 wrote: ...... and some hands ?
But fear not - I can rebuild them - I have the technology. Their hands are currently being grown in a small jar in a secret lab. Or in my desk drawer somewhere...
(cheers Andy and TKW - I'm thinking I will go with the black after all - just a bit tidier than it is currently! TKW - the helmets may look familiar!)

Re: Baron Ironblood Custom
Well, I say that I created these as customs. In actual fact they were hatched from stone eggs atop mountains. As time went by, elemental forces went to work on the eggs, causing it to hatch into a stone monkey!!!! I just painted them red. And popped a helmet on...Dave Tree wrote:I like the clouds they ride on, reminds me of Monkey. Action Force will never suspect an attacking cloud.

If you're doing the black shoulders, you need the white strip IMO, it's what makes it.
However, the white strip may well hide of mulititude of slips on the black edge.
I'd also say black hands - love the single slit visor - are you going to get some of TKW's helmet transfers? Don't start...
These are really, really nice, Steve. I was wondering what you've been doing in there.
