I suppose they were both modelled from the vintage Action man/Gi joe 12" figure hence the likeness...

now if only these figures were a little more common ........ ideal custom fodder !

Looks a bit like with his notepad clipped to his leg! Is that so he can do his shopping list as he flies?

pilots use kneeboards to keep their flight-plans and checklists on. pre-flight checklist, before engine-start checklist, engine start checklist, take-off checklist, in-flight checklist, refuelling checklist (if tehy refuel in-flight), pre-landing checklist, landing checklist and engine shut-down checklist. they skip all that in the movies. you don't even get in the plane without doing a pre-flight walk-around to make sure the plane's good to go.

Great addition to your collection, love the space capsule..even if it doesn't have orange lights that flash not only on but also off as well
