wow, so there really was a unit of money that was a half of a cent. I can't even imagine that! it's cool to know though.
I read that wiki link. holy smokes, that's a LOT of different units of monetary metal! maybe I'm just too used to the relatively simple set-up of our dollars and coinage but the UK plethora of various units seems confusing.
awesome to read though, thanks for the knowledge!

Seriously, if anyone here can't abide the £20 note I'll reluctantly find them a good home.
When new 5p's first came out I didn't spend one for about four years, saving every one I got in a whisky bottle, so arguably that was my favourite then (I was only rather young, and it worked well to get money out of relatives, as everyone knew I collected them, and used to put them to one side for me.)
These days I'm like the Queen - I rarely have any money on me!

My Dad has a weird clock that is band driven and has loads of 1/2ps in it that tell you the time! Hard to explain, so i will take a photo of it some time to show (and no, I've not been drinking. Yet)

And for the skim readers out there - there is an "L" in there - it does say "CLOCK", otherwise the thread has gone even more wrong than normal once I post.

To many innuendos to even make a proper comment!
