can anything be done to make it more difficult to become a member ?
Perhaps if new members had to await conformation from the baron or something ?

Good call.
I've just set the forum to require confirmation for new registrations, so hopefully that'll cut it down a lot.
If it continues then I can disable new registrations entirely until a fix is posted, maybe adopt a Demonoid-style of only accepting new registrations on certain days / times.
Sorry about all this, everyone.

Good call guys - seems to be working, even if it is a little extra work for Baron.
And no need for apologies Baron - in no way your fault! Just find out the addresses for these swines and lets all head round to give them a bloody good hiding?

So that's what the Action Force get up to in their days off from fighting the evil Enemy or is this a plot from the Baron to corrupt some more recruits to the Red Shadows

all you need to do is have it set up so people message & ask to join, including their reasons why they want to join.
if they know nothing about anything the site covers, or they seem like a dick just refuse!

There will no doubt be an update for the forum software soon.
As ever, please don't respond to the spam threads. They generate auto-notification e-mails which flag the account as being active. I delete all spam accounts and posts, and unfortunately all replies along with them.
