Old Shop Stock...........
Re: Old Shop Stock...........
Was in Swanage at the weekend (traditoinal seaside town for those who havn't been!)and there was a toy shop there, popped my head in in the brief hope...........Nope, not a thing!
However, was in Wimborne at the covered market and there was a chap selling Action Man & Star Wars stuff from a bric a brac (no AF unfortunatley) stall, couple of boxed sets & carded figures, no Jawas though! Was a complete boxed Sea Wolf, An Assault Tower Death Slide type thing boxed and a Football Team themed box set. Think he's there every Sunday

"Toy" shop? What's one of those then???
Sorry, but they're a thing of the past in my area. We have a vast selection of pubs, betting shops, discount stores... and that's about it.

Too right. Last Christmas I went hunting for a CD for my mum in Taunton - I couldn't find a single MUSIC shop! All I found was Game which had the top 20 and a second hand store. I couldn't believe it.

My girlfriend and I just got back from The Lake District and I found two COOL nerdy shops! Cool yet nerdy? It's true!
Universal Emporium in Bowness (where I bought two oldschool Starblazer UK comics)
and
Galactic Emporium in Windermere (where I bought a DC Nightwing model).
The Galactic Emporium not only had some previously mentioned reissue Tron figures AND an ORIGINAL Tron Sark figure, all mint on card, but they also had... a carded Action Force Muton for £4.99! Spooky!

Nice tips.
But the UK is f*cked up generally. Not just on the toy and / or diversity front.

True. If somebody tries opening a bookshop in our area it fails miserably. If a betting shop or chippy is opened on the same premises it does a roaring trade.Quickfire wrote:Nice tips.

When confronted by a difficult problem you can solve it more easily by reducing it to the question. How would the Lone Ranger handle this?
