Re: WARNING! toyboxbargains AKA kakindafleet
It could be a reference to when we had the riots in burnley which the media called them race riots
although much of it wasn't about race, it was where i was brought up as a kid and the pub that got burnt down (Duke of York) was my local,
3 lads i know got arrested and have only just got out
The only people who thought it was about race was the media or if it was it was against the whites, indians and lads of multi racial heritage, who were against the pakistanis but they left that detail out, They were the ones who brought cars full over from Bradford just to kick off but as always when things get tough they produce the race card.
P.s. I am not racist i have mates of all credes and backgrounds and they all know that it gets my back up when someone dosn't get there own way and try to produce the race card.
I could go on there is 2 pakistanis who were fighting against the british for the iraqis and they are being spoilt in Burnley after being released what do our lads get http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/se ... sation.php

tintinlostsnowny - thanks for the Krakens by the way, top bananna. I know what you mean about the media twisting news items for their own benefit to make them juicier. Our recent by-election was a good example, the media portrayal of the voters in Crewe was a million miles away from people I know. for example the mother of one of my old school friends was shown on telly but her words were used out of context. The media stir up a lot of trouble just to get stories or make them into what they think are more interesting stories. The real reason for Labour lossing the Crewe seat was that their traditional supporters in this town don't see Bliar/brown's Labour as a socialist party, they're seen as Tories, Dunwoody was old Labour and so most local Labour voters wouldn't support a Brown approved candidate. Yet if the media were to be believed it was all to do with the 10p tax thingy and calling the Tory boy a toff.tintinlostsnowy wrote:It could be a reference to when we had the riots in burnley which the media called them race riots

Re: WARNING! toyboxbargains AKA kakindafleet
Just to get back on-topic a sec...
I'd avoid stuff by mowerman125 - he's a perfectly good ebayer, everything present and accounted for, but the Rattler I just bought had every single movable and removable part superglued into place!

Re: WARNING! toyboxbargains AKA kakindafleet
If that was not mentioned in the auction I would ask for a refund and send it back.
Re: WARNING! toyboxbargains AKA kakindafleet
Ah, it was only £3.20, and he did state it was used with some bits missing - I don't think it was deliberate deception. I suspect it was glued something like 20 years ago and he forgot / didn't know. I just won't leave him any feedback.
If it had been a lot of money then sure. I've also completely destroyed it salvaging as many intact bits as I can so returning it is out of the question. I managed to get most of the missiles off, but broke the wings doing it.

Re: WARNING! toyboxbargains AKA kakindafleet
Ah well, for a few quid you got a handfull of spares! Nowadays spare missiles go for 50p to 1 pound a piece, so bottom line it is still a nice catch.
"OK. But when do I get my own fuggin' plane?"

Re: WARNING! toyboxbargains AKA kakindafleet
Oh yeah, I'm not really complaining, just putting the word out as he has other stuff listed. Was looking forward to finally getting one though I must admit.

I went over to Mowerman's house a few week's back as he lives near to me when he started listing on ebay [he had a FLAGG for sale!].
He really hasn't any idea what he's selling, the toys were his new partner's ex-husband's.
He's a nice enough chap, not out to con anyone, just trying to shift all the 'junk' from his new partner's attic. The condition of the toys is mostly shocking, covered in dirt, glued, incomplete, etc. His new partner had the impression that they were sitting on a goldmine. Sadly not...
Scoobydie bought a pile of stuff off him - mostly rough and incomplete, etc. But he had some gems within all the boxes I think.
He can tell you more...

Had the same kind of thing with the skystrikers I bought, tail fins, missiles etc glued on.
As Paul said, the seller has little knowledge of the stuff he`s selling and just wants rid of it.
I did wonder who outbid me on the Rattler!, I was hoping for a couple of wheels but I found them
in with the other bits I bought from him, snapped though
Nice bloke though , if your going to bid on anything, just ask him specific questions and I`m sure he`ll do his best to answer.
Only like me trying to sell He-man or unfamiliar toys, I`ve got no clue to what is supposed to go with what.
Shame he wouldn`t sell the Flagg though
