They all went very high. Especially when you factor in the 20% plus vat auction fees. Very nice items though.

The normal misb vehicles went cheaply I thought, the carded figures went insane, almost £1k with fees for 3 z force and a minesweeper figure.. Just idiotic? And the 4 series one figures for £700.. Zero justification for those sort of prices.. Sad to see we are living in the must have now generation who do zero research before buying..

I picked up the MISB quarrel for £60 but got outbid on a couple more of the cheapies

The hand painted protos were cool but still not really justifiable prices..

The protos on the sprues such as the silent attsck and weapons pack, I thought were over priced for what they were, since they were identical to the production versions.. So the only difference was the COA saying they were first shots.. At least with SW figs true first shots lack copy right and are usually unpainted so stand out from production versions

So how do the vector charges work?

For a fee of 500 pounds for instance what is the end payment when you add in the vector payments and the VAT?

A

If not paying by credit card you have to add 24%, CC incurr an extra charge usually 2 or 3%, plus if you want it shipped your again at their mercy... One auction house wanted £60 to post me a single carded figure.....

Basically Vectis are rip off bar stewards coining it in but as long as people are willing to pay through the nose the rest of us will be better off trading amongst ourselves.
Remember the seller is also getting charged and losing x amount percentage of the final auction price too.
If you thought Ebay were thieves this place takes the biscuit.
I'd love to see their profit margin on these auctions, I'm in the wrong game!
Not here for a long time, just here for a good time.

Well done. They were a bit too pricey in my opinion, especially when you add on fees and delivery but at the end of the day it's worth what you're willing to pay for it and it's only going to increase in value if you take care of it. Either way I'm jealous cos I don't have one! :)
I was surprised at the opening bids and was going to leave it, but was bidding online when they came up. I couldn't resist the urge to press the big blue button and bid. Blew the budget though, and meant that I couldn't bid on other items, although at the prices some went through I wouldn't have bidded anyway.

At the Palitoy employers sale May last year they had one ATC and that went for £460 hammer price, so compared to that did well.

There were a lot of nice VAM pieces that went cheaply, wish I had bid. The fire engine went for a really low price and the underwater assault sets were going for about £35, sure they will aooear on ebay in a week or two.....
When confronted by a difficult problem you can solve it more easily by reducing it to the question. How would the Lone Ranger handle this?

Horses for courses, It's all relative if your collection needs a Mine Sweeper, Night Patrol or MIB ATC (with an Arial!), it's a do or die moment, the prices realised are what they are as these items rarely if ever become available on eBay, and can exchange hands here but not regulary enough to reduce the prices down.

For me the pre production items were the most exciting, they're Museum standard, historical artefacts relating to the creation of AF, they're all one offs pretty much and come with their provenance too.

I was stunned that fire engine went for so little, I was sure it would be at least a couple of hundred.
I think all the boxed VAM vehicles were really cheap.

Managed to get one of my grails which is a boxed ATC and also what I thought was a really cheap boxed HQ. Only bought it to open as mine is a bit bowed now.
