It is a good question, when I started this collecting lark there was always a decent supply on eBay and rightly so they do seem to have become scarce.

That's because you bloody bought everything!

You don't see them loose very often either.. Perhaps more likely it was a poor seller in comparison to other lines like the Z Force Jeep, SAS Jeep and Shadow Trak etc and so further production was shelved, they sold it through to clear with no repeat productions (no surplus) and therefore it never went to picture box.

Muton is the example of surplus stock.

There's doubts as to whether or not a picture box version exists. Window boxes used to common but have been rare the past couple of years.

It exists or at least it did in this photo from Chadwick.. note the Z Force tank picture box too!

Looks like the main focus was boxed,until marketing must of thought having window boxes kids could actually see what they would get.

How much is Neville Chadwicks asking for this photo

It's an odd display what with all the different release cards.. It must have been taken closer to the end of Series 2 than the start. I'd guess the Tank, Cosmic Cruiser and Para are all prototypes never made.

Many of the Neville Chadwick shots are protos - not least v1 - what's the consensus of the Cosmic Cruiser, Battle Tank and Para Attack boxes? I've never seen any of them before, but it's not too late to squeeze them into the guidebook if they are considered canon.
