Re: Roll Call!...Where's Everyone From?

Post by SPEC OPS »

Well I guess I better introduce myself...
I've been on this board for a number of years (back when it was AFonline with Steve), and am really glad the Baron has kept it up.
I'm based in Bucks, and have been a AF/Joe Fan/collector since day zero.
Have really concentrated on my Joe collection, but since Hasbro have decided to re-invent the wheel e.g. produce 4" figures (why Hasbro?) I'm going to try and give more time to my AF collection.

I've also kept track of other 3 3/4" lines through the years so can idenitfy parts from other lines.
The other 80's gold that I keep track of is Transformers (but unfortunately have neither time nor money to collect).

You may have seen my website "Special 0ps : Action Force or Special 0ps : GIJOE" which I don't maintain anymore, but there is a pretty good AF archive there which rivals BFTB!

Till all are one, er I mean Blood for the Baron!

Michael

Do you saw the Final Destination Movie when the boy get splash by big piece of Window Glass? I cut those glass wall pieces. I deal with 2400 MM x 3800 MM Glass sheets from 3.8 MM thick to 20 MM Thick every day. The machinery do most of the work, but when a sensor fail, I have to go in to check and repair it. Once I have to remain inside the Robotic Suction car Activating one metalic sensor wile he put a Piece of glass orizontaly. It was like a Hydrolic cufin closing, burring you alive. I love my Job!

I kow the filling you have about the Transformer toys. When I bought my current home, I say, Now I have the space to place all my collections. On that Time I collect Legos, Star Wars, Sci-fi movies Character and Of cours Joes. But kids came and the space is gone. So basily I have left only the joes in the family room and store away in boxes are the lego bricks. The other I sold them. and miss them. My time is also very limited, unless I got injured like this past 6 weeks. I have the oportunity to put some time to my hobbies.

About my nickname, yes, it traslated to Shadows, My Friends gave it to me when I desapear for weeks and then came back to school. Also they say my eyes changes collor when I get mad and that scare them. I do have ambar eyes, some times green and other times yellow. A Dawn Shadow one of them say. I like it and keep the sombras.
Take care. Alexis

welcome to the boards!! I was very similar to you, collected joes for years, bought some AF stuff about 10 years ago and didnt know a thing about them ( it was actually a mistake that I bought them ) so I put them away and didnt think about it as I was dissappointed, then DDP brought back the red shadows and I discovered this place and the comics and was blown away at the awesome stories as well. Now Im super happy that I bought those toys all those years ago LOL

its great you got the Best of Collection Book , volume II is coming soon so keep an eye out on these boards

by the way where did you find the link to the best of collection Book ? Im curious , was it this board or another board?

welcome to the fold and make yourself at home! looking forward to your post!!
